This better?
How awful. I just drove through there last week. Beautiful country, that.
Only hit the cars huh? Nobody hurt?
He aint no Marine. ~grin~
Yeah, a Marine would call in an naval airstrike if they really wanted to hit something.
I will be driving over that mountain at about 1:30 pm today.
Two people were hit, but their injuries are not life threatening. There’s a thread in the Virginia forum.

State police say a sniper wounded two people and hit at least four cars on Interstate 64 near Afton Mountain this morning.
The injuries were not life-threatening and the victims were treated and released from Augusta Medical Center. More than 20 miles of I-64 was closed between Charlottesville and Waynesboro from shortly after midnight until about 6:20 a.m.
State troopers, Charlottesville police and Albemarle County deputies are searching wooded areas along the interstate, but no suspect has been found. Police were stationed on overpasses near Greenwood and Crozet.
One of the victims drove himself to the hospital. The other was transported, said Sgt. Dave Cooper, a spokesman for the Virginia State Police. It’s unclear whether they were struck by a bullet or injured by flying glass.
The sniper fire apparently took place near the Greenwood overpass east of Afton Mountain, Cooper said. Four vehicles were shot at beginning shortly after midnight.
The driver of the first vehicle called police. A second report of a shooting lead to the shutdown of the interstate, said Cooper.
Traffic backed up for several miles in the eastbound lanes after the interstate was closed. There were jams at nearly every entrance ramp and heavy congestion on the detour route, U.S. 250. Lou Hatter of the Virginia Department of Transportation said congestion on I-64 was cleared up by about 7 a.m.
I'm a UVA student in Charlottesville. That somebody would be sitting on an overpass with a sniper rifle, shooting at cars on the interstate in the middle of night is rather unnerving to me, especially since I drive down 64 all the time.
Must have been a .223 round.
Just curious-Has UVA released its college decisions yet?
April 1.
Hopefully no April Fool's jokes this year.
I'm here TDY.
There are rumours tht there are more shootings this AM and police are stopping vehicles in the area of Crozet just west of Charlottesville.
Any word or rumor on the type of weapon used?
There would be a huge difference between a .22 cal rimfire rifle and high powered large caliber round.
Not that being shot by either would be pleasant, the type of rifle may give some insight to the shooter.
Thanks.
RoP Alert.
Where did you hear that there are 2 snipers????
