New Sexual Assault by Cadet at the Air Force Academy
USAFA - Internal ^ | 9/19/05 | NeverGore

Posted on 09/19/2005 5:19:11 PM PDT by nevergore

The following is an effort to get important information to you before you read or hear it from the news media or the rumor mill.

A third class cadet was arrested today by Fountain, Colo., police and charged with sexual assault in the first degree (physical helplessness). He is currently in the custody of the Fountain Police Department. If he is released on bail, he will return to the Academy where he will continue as a cadet pending the outcome of any potential legal action. Remember, in America, everyone is presumed innocent until found guilty by a court of law.

The alleged incident occurred overnight, Sat.-Sun., Sept. 10-11, during a party involving 20-30 people at a private residence in Fountain. It was reported to Academy security forces officials by another cadet attending the party. An unknown number of other cadets were present in the residence at the time the alleged crime occurred.

Academy Office of Special Investigations officials are assisting the Fountain Police Department in a joint investigation into the incident.

Reports of this incident will likely appear in local and national news media beginning as early at tonight ( Mon, 19 Sep 05).

Sent on behalf of the Vice Superintendent, Brig Gen Halter

Thanks for the heads up on this. I don't think the press will be inclined to be kind.

It is the fault of the people involved. Not the USAFA, Not anyone else! Put the punishment on the one who did this and that's where it stops. I'm sick and tired of people smearing the name of USAFA because some people don't know how to act. Shame on them. I feel bad for the rest of the Cadets who have to live with this kind of crap.

Everything at the USAFA is now treated as though it was a institutional problem instead of a individuals weakness or failing.

The constant sensitivity briefings are driving my kid absolutely crazy....

Exactly. Blame it on everyone else or anything else but don't take responsibility for your own actions. Sensibility and Character should be there BEFORE you walk through the gate. Good luck to your son.

Obviously
"??? I have no clue."

Nice logic, let me try.

Ted Kennedy, Ted Bundy,
What is it with Teds and girls dying in their cars?

This one happened at an off base party....

I was chatting with an Air Force officer about this sort of stuff last moneth. What happens is that there's no alcohol allowed on the Academy grounds, so groups of students rent an off-base apartment for their weekend fun. Nobody wants to go on-record that the co-ed AF academy is not working out too well

It needed repeating.

"Why didn't these incidents happen years and years ago??? (/Rhetorical question.)" -----

Reasons for better track record in the past:

1. Stronger moral foundation in US overall (dwindling Christian influence)
2. Previously, a much more serious military environment at USAFA ... girls on campus plus continued cultural disintegration (outside culture AND military culture) plus lawyer/ACLU proliferation all have destroyed the traditional disclipline of American service academies, as well as their mission.
3. Living a lie is what it is all about at American service academies these days. All pretending that there is no difference between guys and gals.
4. Honor codes have been in the trash can for decades.

When we saw Bella Abzug get her way pushing the girls into the Academies, we knew that it was only a matter of time....

The MSM has been very aggressive at pointing out sexual incidents among students that involved alcohol at Barnard, Bryn Mawr College, Mount Holyoke, Vasser, Smith, Radcliffe, Wellesley, and other Feminist Boot camps

.

Not to mention the debauchery at Harvard, Yale, Cornell, etc.

So which cadets are having problems with the co-ed system, the male or the female ones? Has anyone told them there are both kinds of officers in the real Air Force? And worse yet, you have to salute them even if they didn't graduate from the Academy?

All the military branches has co-ed officers.....

Most officers do not come from the Academies....

So your premise is that male cadets can't possibly co-exist with female cadets, but they will do better once they are in the real Air Force?

Duh?
