Sometimes what is truly breaking news is not what is reported but what isn't......It's been three days since the storm hit....Where is the world?
What countries have offered supplies, logistics, encouragement or expressed sympathy.
Where are the countries that we have supported and helped over the years? Where is the International Red Cross?
We are a very capable country with vast resources and great people but would we honestly refuse a extra hands to clear roads tend to the elderly and infirmed etc.....
It's nice to know you have friends and neighbors you can count on....
Admin Moderator: If you believe this post does not belong in Breaking News than please move to Editorial however the timing and lack of international comment and support I believe rises to the Breaking News level.

I read yesterday that Iran sent its condolences, for what that's worth.

Don't hold your breath....
We may get some token assistance from a few Nations, but it'll be very little, very late.

Have the Allah Akbars started in Gaza, the UN and the other vermin sewer centers?

I read that Venezuela offered help for "the poor", whatever that means. Also, something from Germany to the effect that because of global warming we had it coming.
I say suspend all foreign aid and send all that saved money to aid the Katrina victims.
Still haven't heard a peep from Hollywood.

Not one cent in aid to our stricken population has been forthcoming from other nations but the greedy bastards in the gawdamn UN had the nerve to criticize the USA when out billions in tsunami relief wasn't "generous" enough.
We are losing a major city, New Orleans. Not one meal, bottle of water, or anything has showed up from any foreign land. How disgusting is the populations of the earth!

What are you saying? There are not Ugandan, Turkish, Indonesian, Afgan or Chinese ships full of food, fresh water and first aid supplies steaming to the gulf as we speak?

Where's Canada? Where's Mexico? They are our direct nieghbors.....
Heck, even a contingent of French marines would be welcome to set up tents, clear debris and search for survivors....
Even if we didn't accept the offer the gesture alone would be nice....

I'd be interested is any overseas Freepers reporting what they are hearing in other countries....Are people quietly smirking in Europe?
What about Saudi Arabia? are they dancing in the streets?

I am waiting for the UN to demand that we give them more moeny so they can give it back to us. We are such 'cheap bastards' for not letting them get their cut.

I did read in one of the many articles this morning (sorry I wouldn't know where to find it for link), that Russia has offered help.

Thankfully, we don't NEED anyone's help. We've got the resources here in the US. Once things settle down, we will be needing a lot of wood to rebuild. (Canada?)

Also, something from Germany to the effect that because of global warming we had it coming
I sometimes wonder if, 20 years in the future, Iraq will be populated by left-wing wackos like Germany is today.
I guess, given the choice, left wing wackos are better than terrorists, although both seem to do about as much damage if allowed to have any sort of power.
To: babyface00
To the idiotic GERMANS:.... hurricanes have occurred from the beginning of time, and have sunk Spanish Gallons laden with treasure in the Caribbean,,, has nothing to do with global warming which is a huge international hoax and fraud!
These storms derive their power from the warmth of the water; global warming theorizes at best the atmosphere (not water) 1-2 degrees hotter than its "supposed" to be. NOT enough of a difference to cause a storm cease to be destructive...the hoax of global warming has nothing to do with it except in the loonies minds..
