It depends on where they buy a house. Our oldest son has more than doubled his money buying a house about 5 or 6 years ago. He’s in Leader, one of the fastest growing towns in US. He’s not wanting to move, he says, where would I go, houses are so expensive now.
Our daughter’s house went from $250K to over $500k in a few years... she’s in a suburb of Ft Worth.
Our youngest son bought a house in a suburb of Austin for $402K a few years ago and it has gone down a bit in value.
Their friends have bought houses in the past five or ten years and they are staying in their houses, party because they go low interest rates on mortgages.
But when our oldest bought his house, at the time, he said he didn’t want to stay there more than four years. But the home prices soared and the mortgage interest rates did too.

Mariner, you are right, it is a broken record with the government at all levels, even the city and county level... More government spending, more taxes....

I agree. I grew up without AC and our college housing often didn’t have AC. I am almost 75 and a heart attack survivor. I need AC. When I was young the heat and cold didn’t bother me.

We LOVE our air conditioning! I didn’t have it until I was 16 in N. Oklahoma where summers are sizzling hot. I don’t know what a hose pipe is but I love my AC and central heat and our local swim pool! Amen! I thank God every day for AC.

We have traditional values... We mow our lawn, pay our bills and taxes, go to church on Sunday, keep to ourselves. We find great joy in spending time with our granddaughters. We keep our pets indoors to keep them safe. Etc... How can we be a threat?
