Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) recently penned an op/ed for the Daily Caller where he makes an eloquent case for why Donald Trump must be the Republican presidential nominee in 2024.
“I can rattle you off statistics about how much better America was two years ago. Gas prices were roughly half of what they are now. There was about a third less fentanyl crossing the border. We were also not on the brink of nuclear war with Russia,” Gaetz said.
“You know how much better life was under President Donald Trump than Biden, you don’t need me to tell you that. It’s time now, though, to look to the future,” he added.
Gaetz believes that only Trump can be trusted to finish the job he started. Trump founded the America First movement in the country, and he is uniquely qualified to see it through to its fulfillment.
“We are still in the midst of the revolution started by Trump when he rode down that golden escalator,” Gaetz stated.
“Just look at who is lined up against Trump already in the 2024 primary. It’s folks like Paul Ryan or billionaire mega-donor Ken Griffin, who is planning to back a Trump challenge. Politico reports Griffin ‘wants to … blunt the vein of populism that has complicated the party’s relationship with the corporate world,'” he continued.
“This is why a Trump 2024 run is so necessary. We know that he will continue to disrupt and serve the people against the Swamp,” Gaetz added.
Gaetz argues that Trump is the only candidate that terrifies the political establishment to its very core.
“There is still much swamp to be drained in every administrative agency of our government,” Gaetz wrote. “There are still miles of wall to be built and longtime counterproductive foreign policies to be reversed. Trump was and is targeted by the “intelligence community” because he applies intelligent thought to avoid wars, not start them.”
“The saying goes, “if you’re taking flak, you’re over the target.” President Trump has not stopped taking flak from the lying media and the nonstop investigations because he’s the Swamp’s worst nightmare,” he added.
Anyone other than Trump would be akin to surrendering to the forces of evil at war with America, Gaetz believes.
“We would be giving up by not having Trump as the Republican nominee in 2024. It would be a reward to the scumbags on the January 6 Committee and all of those who are aligned against our movement,” he wrote.
“Donald Trump started this and has no intention of being a retiree. He earned our trust by keeping his promises,” Gaetz concluded. “America is broken under Biden. Trump alone can fix it.”
Gaetz published his op/ed at a time when the political establishment is declaring Trump dead and coronating Ron DeSantis as the new national Republican leader. As a leading America First Republican from Florida, Gaetz picking Trump over DeSantis speaks volumes.

Its Karmic—Trump was cheated from his second term—now he must return to finish the Lord’s Work. Its like Robin Hood myth, Good King Richard leaves John in charge as he goes off to fight Saladin in the Holly Lands. John rules as a tyrant tax collecting ruler. People rise up with a leader—a Robin Hood— until the return of Richard Lionheart. Sadly, we have no Robin Hood today. Who? Tucker Carlson? I don’t think he looks good in green tights. But, if the need comes, leaders will rise to fill the void, until the good King is returned to his rightful place on the thrown.
I’m a realist. So it doesn’t matter much to me who’s now ahead in the 2024 GOP nomination race. What matters to me is who can actually win in the 2024 general election.
Your mileage may vary. But, sadly, I don’t think that person is Donald Trump. Trump has some great ideas, incredible ideas that could well save this country. But Trump is now damaged goods. He has lost the middle. Some of that is his fault. Some of that is not. No matter. It is what it is it.
So I have most reluctantly moved on from Donald Trump. I have yet to focus on a replacement. Ron DeSantis? Rand Paul? I dunno. Time will tell.

We will vote for whomever the Repub is.

DeSantis is not “my boy”. Please note the “I dunno” in my post #11. I am still looking for the next Ronald Reagan. Maybe it’s DeSantis. Maybe it’s Kari Lake or Rand Paul. O maybe it’s someone who is as yet under the radar.
Time will tell.
