A pair of Atlanta police officers have filed complaints against a piece of artwork that is being displayed at City Hall East. They are the latest complaints about the controversial display that some say promotes racism. Many of those complaining insist that the art be taken down.

MSNBC's Jay Barbree says that NASA may hold off on tomorrow's scheduled shuttle landing after cameras saw "something" floating nearby; NASA afraid that it may have been something that came off of the shuttle during an overnight engine burn. They're not sure if it is from Atlantis, or just space junk. They want to check to make sure it is nothing from the thermal protection system on board Atlantis.

CNN is reporting that a UAL ATL-SFO flight is being diverted to Dallas after finding an unclaimed (unattached?) backpack prior to takeoff from Atlanta, as well as a Blackberry that does not belong to anyone on board. An ex-Marine pulled out a pocket knife after five people, including a young girl, allegedly tried to rob him late Monday evening in Midtown. That girl died. Another one of the alleged assailants is in critical condition. Investigators are calling the case one of self-defense. They say no charges will be filed against the victim in the case.

MSNBC reported late Wednesday afternoon that a grand jury would hear evidence against Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-4th Ga.) on Thursday. No word is available on how soon a warrant may be issued against McKinney. The Washington Post reports Capitol police want McKinney prosecuted on a misdemeanor charge of assaulting a police officer. The fourth district congresswoman has said she's a victim of racial profiling and insists she struck the officer after he touched her inappropriately.

U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-4th Ga.) is expected to have something new to say about her run-in with a Capitol police officer at a news conference on Monday morning. The incident happened last week. McKinney says she was the victim of racial profiling by Capitol police in the incident. McKinney’s spokespersons say that she will have “something new” to say at a 10:30 a.m. news conference, at the Community Church of Christ on Cascade Road in southwest Atlanta.

A man suspected of stabbing two women during a domestic dispute in Southeast Atlanta early Monday morning started to stab himself while holding Atlanta police officers at bay. After negotiating with the suspect for more than two hours, the officers backed the man onto a front porch and used a taser gun to subdue him. NEW YORK (AP) -- Isaac Hayes has quit "South Park," where he voices Chef, saying he can no longer stomach its take on religion. Hayes, who has played the ladies' man/school cook in the animated Comedy Central satire since 1997, said in a statement Monday that he feels a line has been crossed. "There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins," the 63-year-old soul singer and outspoken Scientologist said.

While he is in Atlanta on Thursday, President Bush will present an award to a local woman. He's honoring her for her volunteer work. The Commander-in-Chief is presenting Peace Corps volunteer Amber Davis-Collins with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. She lives in Atlanta, but was singled out for her work abroad as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras. NEWFANE, Vt. (AP) -- A small town is urging Vermont's only U.S. congressman to file articles of impeachment against President Bush. Voters gathered for Newfane's annual town meeting on Tuesday to conduct routine business and vote on the impeachment call. It passed 121-to-29. The impeachment item says Bush misled the nation into the Iraq war and engaged in illegal domestic spying. A justice of the peace says that the town is run by what he calls the "far-left."
