A man suspected of stabbing two women during a domestic dispute in Southeast Atlanta early Monday morning started to stab himself while holding Atlanta police officers at bay.
After negotiating with the suspect for more than two hours, the officers backed the man onto a front porch and used a taser gun to subdue him. The suspect was transported to the hospital to be treated for the self-inflicted cuts to his neck and throat.

Oh, and the story does have the video of the takedown included.
Why did they bother subduing him? Wouldn't it be both faster, cheaper, and less trouble for everyone concerned if he were allowed to stab himself properly?
Or as someone else here in the newsroom said, why not let the cops use their lead-jacketed tasers an hour or two sooner?
good grief
Jacketing is not lead, but copper based. But then again, it comes from "someone else here in the newsroom". Figures.
Do what he say !!!
Give me a break -- I've gotta teach 'em to crawl before they can walk...
