CinemaLive have announced their partnership with C-Major Entertainment to bring Carmen, the most beautiful opera by Georges Bizet, which will be filmed on the Lake in Bregenz, Austria and transmitted to 300 UK cinemas on Thursday 14th September. Seebühne (floating stage) is set on the water near the shores of Lake Constance in Austria and has a 7,000 seat open-air amphitheatre. The set has been designed by British artist Es Devlin who has designed sets for Adele, U2, Take That and Kanye West.

The Royal Albert Hall released new research today which proves the emotional health benefits that listening to live music has on our wellbeing. The study of 2,000 adults in the UK shows that two-thirds (69%) of Brits feel 'more stimulated' and 'happier' when listening to live music. According to the survey, the British public are also ‘more engaged’ (68%) and ‘more sociable’ (59%) when live music is playing. Almost three quarters (73%) agree that ‘live music can make an event feel more special’.

Nick Drake was a British singer-songwriter and musician who died at a very young age in 1974. Known for his acoustic guitar-based songs, his music has posthumously achieved more recognition. 'Strange Face: Adventures With A Lost Nick Drake Recording' is the incredibly unique and poignant show written by and starring the composer and performer, Michael Burdett. Burdett discovered a recording of Nick Drake’s music in a skip in the 1970’s. Thirty years later Burdett travelled around the UK playing the music for people in return for being photographed.

Lately, I have been discovering some old classics such as R Kelly’s 'Ignition' and Natalie Imbruglia’s 'Torn'. However, instead of listening to the original mixes, I have been enjoying some emerging bands and finding that I prefer some of them to the originals! All of the songs I am about to review are on Spotify and you can listen to them on there free of charge.

The research looks at how much a music artist makes when a single, album or vinyl record is purchased. An extraordinary example is this, Beyoncé would need us to listen to one of her songs 12.5 million times on Apple Music in order to meet the UK's yearly minimum wage of £14,625.

To coincide with his album news, Joey Bada$$ premieres a new music video today, the lead single off the forthcoming album, 'Land Of The Free,' The video portrays Joey leading a group of African Americans through scenic American mountainous landscape and comes to a head with a standoff between Joey's group and white authoritarian figures: businessmen, police officers, and politicians. Joey also co-directed the video alongside Nathan Smith (D.R.A.M., Goldlink).
