Marilyn Musgrave handily beat Jeff Bedingfield in the Republican primary election late Tuesday, and she quickly got in position for a potentially bitter fight with the Democratic candidate in the general election. “I think tonight is a night when we can all take a deep breath and really celebrate and get ready to take on Stan the tax man,” Musgrave said, referring to Democrat state Sen. A very good concealed carry bill has been offered in the Colorado House of Representatives by Rep. David Schultheis (R - El Paso County). As introduced, the bill would, in part: 1.) Change CCW permit issuance from "may issue" to "shall issue"; removing arbitrary decision-making from the process. Is it possible that Pat Buchanan's "split" with the Republican Party is all a ruse designed to prevent Perot from throwing the election to the Democrats? Bill Clinton says that the budget surplus cannot be used to reduce taxes because it would "cost" too much. Just what does that mean? It certainly does not mean that the government would have to give up doing something that it is already doing. The very fact that there is a surplus means that tax revenues exceed what the government is spending on everything that it is doing. Republicans in Congress have been potentially (and uncharacteristically) shrewd the past couple of months, passing tax cuts President Clinton is almost sure to veto, which creates the possibility of delineating something like real differences between the two parties.
