As shown in multiple places in the New Testament, early Christians worshipped on “the first day of the week.”
However.....Great and Holy Saturday is the day on which Christ reposed in the tomb. The [Orthodox] Church calls this day the Blessed Sabbath.
“The great Moses mystically foreshadowed this day when he said:
God blessed the seventh day.
This is the blessed Sabbath
This is the day of rest,
on which the only-begotten Son of God rested from all His works....”

The right way is to say “6 million Jews and approximately 6 million others.”
One might then go on to mention who the “others” were—especially Poles, Russians and Serbs! And that the murderers of Serbs were mainly Croats rather than Germans!
