Dear friends, are we truly thankful in light of the day in which we live to still be able to worship Almighty God in Spirit and TRUTH here in America, and that we still have a measure of time left to get out His ETERNAL saving Gospel message to this lost, dying, and condemned world? Beloved, are we truly rejoicing that the Lord Jesus is coming again very soon and that this fallen world is NOT our ETERNAL home? Beloved, we have such an ETERNAL glorious hope, such ETERNAL precious promises and such an ETERNAL fulfilled future with our ETERNAL Savior and Lord in perfect RIGHTEOUSNESS (1 Cor. 2:9, Rev. 22:5)! Beloved, that truly is the thankful fire that must burn in our hearts all year long! We need to possess that thanksgiving of heart that keeps us fresh and joyful as we walk this pilgrim journey (Phil. 4:4)! For indeed, this world is truly NOT our home, we are truly just a pass'n through! Beloved, see and possess your ETERNAL calling in Christ Jesus, be His thankful, faithful ambassador and light in such days, and ALWAYS give thanks to the ETERNAL LORD of life in ALL THINGS (Col. 3:1-4, 1 Thess. 5:16-18)! For this is indeed the Will of God!
Beloved, may this Thanksgiving season be a wonderful, thankful blessing to you all! We indeed have much to be ETERNALLY thankful for (Phil. 4:4)!
Beloved, The Kingdom of Heaven is truly at hand!
It is good and fitting that you ask this question. It is my studied opinion that eternity for the born again Christian begins with the new birth. With that in mind, for the Born Again believer ipso facto Everything is eternal. That, of course, would include Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not only eternal but it is everyday. All Christians would do well to regard this as the truth.
Thanks again for your post.
I spent a Thanksgiving once with some lefty relatives that seemed to last forever.
Same here. It seems eternal. They are die hard Democrats.
In those situations of which you speak, we do well to shut up and eat. If we’ve gotta talk Make it about food. Make it about old times. Good times. Compare awkward moments from the deep past. Talk about things we can all laugh about.
After that, make your excuses and split. Like the Bible says, quote, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemyPsalm 107:1-2.
Amen and God bless.
Eyes on The Prize!
I do all of those things. The better half wants to stay much longer than I.
Yes, the bourbon pecan pie (with a scoop of ice cream) makes it all tolerable.
When it comes time at the groaning board on Nov. 27 to express what you are grateful for, may I suggest,
“I am grateful that Robert DeNiro, Stephen King, Ron Perlman, Rosie O’Donnell, [Insert Worst relatives present, e.g. Aunt Millie, cousin Sally and great-grandmother Edna] and a lot of other busybody communists have been seething every day since November 5, 2024, when America took back the congress and White House from the godless socialist democrats, thank you speaker Johnson and President Trump, again.” Amen
π
And I will add this about all those you mentioned: I am thankful that none of them are at this table with me.
That would probably result in a domestic violence dispute. So, I’ll pass.

Yeah, too many sharp objects handy, wine & beer consumption.
Don’t want to wind up on an episode of Cops, or in a “last pork chop” article here.
Alabama is brutalizing Eastern Ill., the big bullies.
Come, βye thankful people,β and let us praise the Father,β who in His goodnessβ created heaven and earth,β and all that is in them,β endowing us His creatures,β with reason to worship Him,β who in His great mercy and love for us His children.* has granted us salvation.
Come, ye thankful people,β and let us praise the only-begotten Son,β who for our sakes did clothe Himself in mortal nature,β deigning to suffer and die for us,β trampling down death and raising us with Himself,β who in His great mercy and love for us His children,β has granted us salvation.
Come, ye thankful people,β and let us praise the Holy Spirit,β who descended upon the Apostles,β making them fishers of men,β through whom the earth has received,β the knowledge of the Holy Trinity,β who in His greatβ mercy and love for us His children,β has granted us salvation.
Come, ye thankful people, and let us praise the Holy and consubtantial Trinity, to whom belongeth worship, to whom belongeth praise, to whom belongeth glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
