  • O'Reilly vs. Ex-Mayor "Willie"

This is simply beautiful. It took me a few times reading to capture the essence, but I've got it. Would have gleaned it on a first read, but I am guilty of being on my second (I think) glass of one of CA's blessings, a good chardonnay. Thanks for the posting in this thread. I am going to tuck this little tidbit away to use again. Especially, next time I hear once again that Gore won the election.

I expect that Willie probably thought he could pull a "Willie" and not prepare for the appearance on O'Reilly figuring he could schmooze his way as he had done in SF for far too long. Well, he was wrong and came off looking feeble, ignorant, and disgraceful. Hope America has seen a hint of what we've had to deal with in SF.

  • Can we afford to "Kerry" the load?

You know what, for the dems it doesn't matter. They could put anyone but Bush up and they would vote for him. Kerry could be the most inarticulate (flip-flop), be rocked with Scandal (Berger), and the dems will still vote for him. Sad, but true.

I was just talking to my wife tonight about this. We have many liberal friends, and there is no hope for them. However, we are having some success in reaching out to our more moderate liberal friends who are now leaning toward Bush way because of issues like illegal immigration. And, the fact that Kerry is a puppet with no babkbone on issues.

Also he said not to call illegal aliens by that name because it will offend them, but that something like Michael Moores movie is not offensive, at least to him, he said.

Doesn't that just frost you? How can you not call illegal immigrants by what they are? They are here illegally. Hello. Should we start quoting stats on what each illegal means to us as taxpayers every year? Staggering and probably belongs in another thread.

I agree with several in this thread that indicated O'Reilly went a little soft on several issues (i.e. pulled a Larry King). Particularly on the funds issue, but perhaps he wasn't informed enough to dig a little deeper.

    Thanks for the repsonse.

Amen, brother! Gathering those stats sounds like the perfect mission statement for SF-based (e.g. city funded) non-profit. Hmmm. Maybe I should convert our SF-based technology company? Thanks for your response.

  • S.F. OKs ballot measure allowing non-citizens the right to vote

Not only that, but last time we went to bid on a job for bringing state-of-the-art technology into this city to create Mayor Brown's (I'll save THAT subject for another thread...) vision for automated government, the city actually REQUIRED responding business to support domestic partnership, show that you were minority-owned and/or women-owned businesses. I'm not sexist OR racist, but I seem to be unable to competitively do business in this city for being a white male and running a corporation. Those outside CA may not realize those requirements actually exist. Anyway, thanks for the response.

As I sit here in my office in the heart of San Francisco, I would gladly sacrifice myself to see SF fall away into the ocean as alluded to by RockinRight. I am already so disgusted with this city... and now this... what next? I've actually got an attorney here in my office today as we prepare to fight the city of SF for a stupid tax issue over a few hundred dollars that is preventing us from doing business in SF. We have been here 19 years and now they are saying we can't do business with the city. Makes me sick. God help this city.

Love the reference to Rocky Horror, that was the first thing that came to mind. I, too, would only see if I could ensure I could throw, smell, yell, screem, laugh, and make sure there was plenty of press around to ensure the libs knew what was going on....
