I recently rediscovered my love for DL when they released an album with the London Philharmonic, Drastic Symphonies. Worth a listen if you are a fan!

Mountain House #10 cans are a good option if you are trying to build your “bench”. You can just order one periodically and soon you’ll have a nice supply. Much more cost effective than individual meals and have a longer shelf life. You can order individual food items (vegetables, meat, eggs, etc.) or prepared “meals”.

I use Mountain House for backcountry hunting and find little digestive distress when using the individual backpacking meals. They are a bit salty but that will prove useful when under stress or during heavy physical activity.

This is moral hazard writ large. There is no reason to backstop the firms that failed to diversify or insure their banking relationships. George warned us that “The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury.” We have arrived!

Think of how Florida has become a mecca for Liberty-minded folks. Now we all have to get to work to make our own states like FL. I have a particularly uphill battle living in a state that elected a brain-damaged senator because he agrees that slaughtering our children is a fundamental right... Exactly. I used to carry a KelTec P3-AT. Then I read about the engagement distances of a lot of mass shootings and realized I needed something a little more accurate. I tried a G21 but couldn’t keep my pants up and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I finally arrived at a G48 (appendix). I can wear it almost anywhere fully concealed and can keep everything in the 9-10 ring in timed fire at the range. It was an expensive sequence but worth it... Plus I now have a safe full of trial and error guns!

Great article but it misses one obvious point. I watched the game (much to my regret). Truth be told, it was like watching two very good high school boys teams play. Slow, disjointed and uninspired play for a “world cup”. I had to turn off the celebration. This debacle is the result of the “everybody’s a winner” mentality of our society. Hi NorthstarMom. I am normally a lurker, but your story really hit home with me. I was in a similar situation in that we were in a small church that was very focused on helping addicts. As a leader, I was complicit in the “Let’s be so compassionate that our brains leak out of our heads” faction. I regret it. My family paid a price. Fortunately through a lot of prayer and counseling, we’re all good now (15 years later). Having said that, I want you feel comfortable questioning leadership.

Your pastor has a good heart, but is not tending his flock. Those that are called to put themselves in harms way do so under a very specific call from God and He honors that. Those that put themselves in harms way who may not be specifically called by God to do so (for His glory) are foolish. Those that put others in harms way are evil or misguided (hopefully the latter) and must be challenged.

I am now a member of a church that still does a lot of outreach, but is very cognizant of safety. Quite a few of us carry concealed during the service with the full knowledge and encouragement of our pastor. I would suggest that you (or another member of your church) do the same and ensure that someone is sitting BEHIND Mohammed until it is well established that he is a committed Christian. I am not insinuating that he is not, but it would be foolish to ignore current events. There is no need to confront him unless his behavior becomes overly suspicious, but a little alertness goes a long way. God gave us both a heart and a brain and asks us to use both!

Unfortunately, the candidates that are currently running for office — with the possible exception of Cruz — on both sides of the spectrum hold the same view: DO NOT CHALLENGE THE SUPREMECY OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. This stance will never be changed from the Oval Office. It can only be changed by the States. As long as they are beholden to the Federal government, Patriots will be in jeopardy.

You couldn’t be more right in your assessment: One of the primary goals of the Communist Party is the replacement of revealed religion with “social” religion!

With all due respect to our brethren in law enforcement... The police cannot protect every citizen (no matter how many complaints they register). Our RTKBA is the only real defense against this type of lawlessness and is being eroded daily!

I do not trust either Rudy or Romney to carry the Conservative cause with any real integrity. Having said that, I cannot subject the men and women who fight for my freedom on a daily basis to the humiliation of having to serve under Hillary Clinton as CIC. I’ll vote for Rudy or Romney for that reason only! Unfortunately, I have no faith that either candidate will create enough fervor to energize the base.

I have been there and it does get better. I completely understand how you feel and will pray for you as you go through this time. Just remember that every "cheat" prolongs the pain.

Only God can fill the void that you are feeling. Pride is Satan's way of keeping us separated from God. Understand that everyone has failed God and that it is only His grace that allows ANY of us to continue on. Once you realize that we are all in the same boat and free yourself from your pride, things will get better...

Seeking the support of friends and family and finding a way to serve Him by serving others was key in helping me through my dark period. Remember that God created you for a purpose and that He wants a relationship with YOU, not the happy-go-lucky drunk that was in your place. He knows your heart and will both trust and forgive you as you become a new creation.

As I said before, I will pray for you, but be sure you are also praying for yourself. There is no substitute for a direct conversation with God!
