ESPN is asking who folks think will win this year's Heisman Trophy. The choice should be obvious, don't you think? Go here to send a little love to the Big O in his quest to dominate the world of college football!

These last few weeks in the presidency of Barack Obama -- filled with missteps on health care (where nobody in the Congress fears him, and his demands to get something done go unheeded by even those in his own party) and his seeming false bravado when it comes to a nuclear-armed Iran -- has begun to prove out the notion that our current president is most likely temperamentally unsuited to handle the rigors of the presidency. Proof of such a thesis lies all around us. Jay Cost, writing in today's Real Clear Politics, says that he thinks Obama is having...

I love the title to this little piece, but I can’t claim the honor of coming up with the honorific “President Pantywaist” to describe Barack Obama. That belongs to the inimitable Gerald Warner of the UK Telegraph. He’s yet another reason to thank our stars that our essential DNA, as Americans in character regardless of where we all actually came from, originates in the old-time British fighting spirit evidenced by Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill. He’s really been right on the mark about our President and his essential spinelessness, it appears to me. … One of my favorite science fiction...

Back in the days of Joseph Stalin, that madman and his cabal made good use of the talents of filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein, who had a natural ability to take the Soviet inclination to turn art and bend it to the will of the country's communist rulers and produce cinematic works that glorified Soviet accomplishment. ... Now, I'm not saying that Barack Obama is in any way similar to Joseph Stalin or Ivan the Terrible (especially Ivan, who'd have a peasant's head hacked off just for blinking the wrong way), but I'm sure one can see the parallels between Stalin and...

Okay, I admit that Time magazine polemicist Joe Klein … -- who's lately decided to prove his superiority as an observer of all things political by taking after Sarah Palin -- is at times equally as despised by those on the Left as he by us over here on the Right side of things. At least as it applies to his attacks on Palin, it seems there's good reason for conservatives and others holding similar views to really dislike Klein, who appears to be bordering on irrational mindlessness in his … screeds against the former Alaska Governor… Let's take a...

The answer seems to be yes, at the moment. News reports out over the last few days — and one in particular that seems to indicate the International Atomic Energy Agency, under head Mohamed ElBaradei, has been withholding concrete evidence of Iranian nuclear weapons development and delivery capabilities – tell a tale of continuing Iranian determination to get a nuclear weapon. Today's reports come on the heels of yesterday's announcement by President Obama that the U.S. was stopping work on developing a land-based missile defense shield aimed at preventing its Eastern European allies (especially Poland and Czechoslovakia) from suffering a...

I'm hearing that Barack Obama plans on making the rounds of most of the Sunday morning news shows this upcoming weekend, and I'm thinking; What? We don't already know you're in favor of health care reform? Of cap and trade? Of just about anything a "right" thinking leftist loves and adores? Has there been a day -- or even an hour in any day since January 20th of this year -- that the President hasn't been on the airwaves, imploring us to believe the sky was about to fall down upon our heads for real this time? Surely, as an...

Part of the fallout from the whole “ACORN-getting-busted-teaching-folks-how-to-be-better-pimps-and-prostitutes” thing is a long-overdue examination of the role of the mainstream media (I prefer the term "LameStream" Media) in basically covering up for the sins of the far Left these days. The dissembling and weak excuses issuing forth from more than a few of the so-called "giants" in the media (the New York Times, the Washington Post, ABC's Charlie Gibson...who admitted to not even knowing, or caring, about the ACORN dustup etc.) over why they failed to even demonstrate a smidgeon of curiosity about what Barack Obama's favorite community organization was up...

Yesterday, the United States Senate -- perhaps finally starting to see the train coming down the tracks bearing down upon it in the form of vicious public scorn of Congress and anybody, from any party, who inhabits (or infests) the place -- voted 83-7 to voted to approve an amendment that would preclude ACORN from receiving DOT and HUD federal funding in the future. My initial take is that this is a very good thing. ACORN has been receiving federal dollars -- under both Democratic and Republican administrations -- going back to the early 1990s (something like 53 million, in...

I've watched with no small amount of glee these last several days the literal beat-down the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (better known as ACORN) has been receiving at the hands of two under-25 journalists who seem to be doing the hard work and investigation of Barack Obama's favorite national community organization that the mainstream media chose not to do for itself. At least three video recordings now exist of the two -- 25-year old James O'Keefe and 20-year old Hannah Giles -- got together and cooked up a plan to expose the utter lack of morality or...

Well it didn't take long, did it? Pretty much by late afternoon on the day of the march, leftist bloggers and media pundits began trying to 'debunk' photos of the march, claiming the large crowd shown marching down Pennsylvania Avenue on the way to the Capitol Building was from another march, perhaps the one that supposedly showed up to honor the recently-deceased Ted Kennedy. Here are a few emails I received over the weekend and which I opened upon returning from the D.C. area: - "You people need to get over yourselves. Your ironically Strangelovian pursuit of a political strategy...

At this point in the game it might be a little premature to engage in a few what-ifs in the event a health care reform bill ("ObamaCare")containing a public option is rammed through the Congress in some fashion. My guess at this point is that two differing bills -- the House's version having a public option and the Senate's not -- will have to be reconciled in conference committee, which will be Nancy Pelosi's, Harry Reid's and Barack Obama's best chance to insert a stealth version of it back into a final version. Should that occur, and I don't see...

There was at least one hard truth about the Barack Obama presidency that should have become painfully evident the day after his hoped-for "game changing" address to a joint session of Congress. For sure, it's now a certainty that we're going to be looking at years of government by bumper sticker sloganeering. As if we didn't get enough of such stuff during last year's "historic" campaign (actually, the history of the country has been marked by a ton of dishonest, empty and vapid political campaigns almost exactly like Mr. Obama's), we're now being forced to sit through it all over...

Maybe the example being set by Sarah Palin -- in which she's firmly and without hesitation stood up to the Barack Obama propaganda machine time after time when it comes to death panels and ObamaCare -- is finally starting to catch the attention of male Republican legislators. It certainly seemed to have worked with South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson. Last night -- in an unguarded moment that's no doubt going to be used by Democrats in an effort to distract attention from Mr. Obama's completely vacuous health care speech -- finally couldn't take the the President's use of the Big...

I have to admit that I'm curious to hear Barack Obama's plea for health care reform to both houses of the Congress tonight, though I really don't think we're going to hear much of anything new. Rather, I think he's going to try to present the same old soup that's just been heated up in a different bowl when it comes to his views on what he terms health insurance reform but which most Americans who have even a passing interest in the subject really know is an attempt to sneak through a nationalized health system similar to what the...

I'm no political scientist (well, I'm not the kind that gets paid to "do" such science at some university) but I'm fairly certain this last Labor Day holiday weekend -- where he could stand in front of adoring labor unions and bask in their adulation all day -- was one that Barack Obama wished could have gone on for, say, 2 or 3 years. I say this because it's my guess the man in the Oval Office most likely isn't looking forward to the return of the silly season (otherwise known as Congress going back into session) and all that...

With each new revelation in the Van Jones saga -- more footage was found today in which he referred to then-President George W. Bush as being like a crackhead over his comfort with oil as an energy source -- it appears that his belief system isn't really anything out of the ordinary for a White House and a President who, at heart, come across as a "do as I say, or else" bunch of closet totalitarians. Really, we can see it in almost every piece of legislation -- passed or sitting and awaiting passage -- put forth by the Obama...

Another day and yet another revelation about an Obama administration advisor or member of the inner sanctum; this time one Anthony "Van" Jones, Barack Obama's "Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation," whatever that position is supposed to entail. I think it has something to do with being a member of the Communist Party and an all-around America-hating radical, but what else is new when we're talking about the Keystone Cops atmosphere currently underway over at the White House? As far as bizarre went, I thought I'd heard it all when Mr. Jones was busted on a recent video...

Once in a while, I get the most amazing emails. The one below was in response to the observation I made about Barack Obama's upcoming September 8th televised address to our nation's schoolchildren and how creepy something like that might seem to more than a few folks aware of fascist and communist history in other parts of the world. Well, it seems this gentleman just couldn't wait to school me on my proclivities and ultimate motivations, and I have to say that his missive was amusing on a couple of different levels. Here it is (profanity sanitized by me): "You...

Is it just me, or is the way this whole cult of personality thing going on with our current President beginning to really take on the characteristics of a type of benevolent despotism on the part of our federal government? ObamaCare -- and this creepy new gag, where Barack Obama will be beamed September 8th into the classrooms of all our children -- seems to be the latest manifestation of this phenomenon. First, there was a 787 billion dollar stimulus that doesn't seem to be stimulating much other than a ton of equally-creepy "Your Obama Stimulus Dollars at Work" road...
