Theresa May has become Britain's next Prime Minister after Andrea Leadsom withdrew from the Conservative leadership contest. The energy minister has paved the way for Home Secretary Theresa May, as the only remaining candidate, to become Tory leader and Prime Minister. David Cameron has phoned Mrs May to congratulate her and the new PM will make a statement at 5pm. Mrs Leadsom said: "The best interests of our country inspired me to stand for the leadership.
