    The obvious answer to the above thread title is NO. The veracity of something does not change over time. If something is a lie, a mislead, or whatever, then whether or not it is old does not mean that what was reported then wasn't true. Some may counter by saying that if what was reported then in the past were true, then it would have brought down that person - i.e., they would have had to resign their position or their campaign would have been scuttled - but that assumption would also be false.
