This article from the Grio starts out with the following:Black patients modify speech, dress up to reduce medical bias, survey showsBlack Californians report adjusting their appearance, changing behavior, minimizing questions and signaling to providers that they are educated to reduce chance of discrimination in hospitals and doctors’ offices.A young mother in California’s Antelope Valley bathes her children and dresses them in neat clothes, making sure they look their very best — at medical appointments. “I brush their teeth before they see the dentist. Just little things like that to protect myself from being treated unfairly,” she told researchers.I always brush...

In recent days it has been reported in the Chosun Ilbo (one of South Korea’s most widely read daily newspapers) that if North Korea launches an ICBM into the “Pacific region,” the United States will “immediately” intercept it. This report was quickly responded to by Kim Jong-un’s sister, Kim Yo-jong, who warned of a “swift and overwhelming” military response to any action taken by the United States. It is unclear if the reporting in the Chosun Ilbo was a misquote or even a mistranslation. Such a comment has never been made in the past by a senior American official. The...

VIDEORemember, it's NOT a bailout! How do we know? Because the government is telling us it is NOT a bailout and they would never lie. Right?

Is anyone else experiencing this? Hubby is employed and we get health insurance through his employer. I am an "insured dependent" and not being charged - so MY non-vaxx status doesn't matter (evidently). He, however, is paying a surcharge for not being vaccinated - to the tune of $100/mo. He has had COVID twice and certainly should be considered "naturally immune", at this point. We have written to HR (who seems to be the point of contact for this) protesting the surcharge, sent a Dr's letter saying he (our Dr) does not recommend the shot for my husband (our Dr...

So, the Biden Administration made a horrible error by guaranteeing deposits at Silicon Valley Bank for deposits over $250,000. Essentially, Biden bailed out big tech that kept their deposits at SVB. But what triggered the run on SVB and other banks? Simple. Biden and Congress spent like drunken sailors with Covid and The Federal Reserve went nuts printing money. Viola! We got inflation. But with inflation came The Fed’s attempt to get inflation back to its 2% target (difficult since Biden/Congress refuse to return spending to pre-Covid levels). But as interest rates rise, duration (weighted average life of MBS) rose...

Tucker Carlson opened his show last night with an important message. "You're going to get a hot war with Russia — and China — whether you want one or not." https://youtu.be/qG8uLFHJWVEHe followed up with an analysis of the Black Sea drone incident and the calls for retaliation and escalation from the War Party, both Democrat and Republican alike. Watch the whole thing but the most important part is at the end: But as they were yapping about all of that, they missed some other things that were going on in the United States, like, for example, the collapse of our...

It’s not always sunny in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Business outlook remains grim at -23. This comes after yesterday’s terrible Empire State print. Between Biden’s energy policies and massive spending by Biden/Congress, we are seeing the raging effects of inflation on the economy. Here is Biden’s Press Secretary trying to explain how marvelous the US economy is.

Now that The Fed-induced-banking crisis has cooled … for the moment … I can focus on that mysterious positive homebuilder sentiment release from yesterday. The sentiment was driven by 5+ unit (multifamily) starts which were up 24% in February, which 1-unit (single-family detached) starts were up only 1.10%. 23 consecutive months of NEGATIVE real wage growth and still ultra-high home prices begat lots of multifamily housing starts. The problem for Americans is the real weekly wage growth has been negative for 23 consecutive weeks while home prices remain high, particularly after the Covid bailout by The Fed. Here is the...

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the...

This is a story that makes us believe in humanity. If it weren’t for the kindness of these farmers, a young man wouldn’t have been able to win back his family farm. This is a story which took place in Nebraska, and features a family that has lost their farm several years ago. It was not their fault, which is why all the farmers present at the auction, let them win that land back. All the farmers decided to remain silent, so that the auctioneer would have to give this family the farm they came to bid on. -Why did...

I believe the war in Ukraine is not something The West should stake its future on. Hitler lost his chance to hold on to his immoral gains when he attacked Russia. All the western resources sucked into Ukraine are resources that cannot be used on America's southern border, in Taiwan, around Indonesia's Natuna Island or in Darwin or at the Pine Gap base in Central Australia. It is a worry if 62% of registered Republicans will vote for the World War Three triggering possibility of over-tough responses to Putin's excesses. (https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4138508/posts) But let us focus, as Tucker Carlson has done,...

“The Sacrament of Holy Baptism: How Can Water Do Such Great Things?” Today we continue our series on the six chief parts of the catechism, and we come to the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. And the catechism has some pretty impressive things to say about Baptism: “It works forgiveness of sins, rescues from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this.” “Wow! That’s quite a list! And you’re telling me that Baptism does all of that? That Baptism actually works? That it accomplishes such marvelous things? You’re kidding me, right? Just pouring some water over...

You may have noticed by now that folks on the left defending the effort to trans children in K-12 schools are still arguing that it is not happening. They claim conservatives and libertarians worried about such a thing are simply being bigoted reactionaries, using children to demonize members of the LGBTQ community.Despite numerous reports detailing how educators and members of school staff have promoted transgender ideology among children and have even helped many of these students “transition” to the opposite sex, progressives claim this is nothing more than a myth. But now, parental rights advocacy group Parents Defending Education (PDE)...

You have probably heard that the city of San Francisco is going to pay out billions of dollars to black American residents as a form of reparations. Indeed, the city’s board of supervisors voted unanimously to shell out $5 million for each black resident living in the city regardless of whether their ancestors faced slavery and/or Jim Crow. This development mirrors what the state of California is attempting to accomplish by ascertaining what type of reparations package the Golden State can concoct to address the evils of discriminatory laws passed during the Jim Crow period since there was never slavery in...

Several national grassroots organizations on Monday joined Americans for Citizen Voting to voice our opposition to a new law (Local Resident Voting Rights Act) that allows non-citizens to vote in D.C.’s elections. The change in law, unfortunately, went into effect the next day. The purpose of our press conference was to put pressure on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to bring up for a vote SJR 5 and SJR 6 which bans non-citizen voting in The District.I was joined by Election Transparency Initiative‘s National Chairman Ken Cuccinelli, J. Hogan Gidley, Vice Chair, Center for Election Integrity at America First Policy...

Something was truly lost when James O’Keefe and Project Veritas had an unhappy parting of the ways, as we reported in February. Project Veritas’ social media following went into free fall after his ousting, and virtually everything they posted on Twitter was met with people saying, “Bring back James O’Keefe.” Many were concerned that this would cause his crusading mission to call out corruption and the left would suffer because of his leaving the organization. But perhaps not for long. Now O’Keefe is announcing a new venture for all those who were concerned. It sounds like he will be up and at...

On this date in 1766, Irish priest Nicholas Sheehy was hanged, drawn, and quartered in Clonmel — a victim to the years-long campaign of enclosures by Ireland’s landlords, whom English agriculturist Arthur Young reported as “harpies who squeezed out the very vitals of the people and by process, extortion, and sequestration dragged from them the little which the landlord had left them.” Sheehy was a sympathizer of the peasant “Whiteboys” resistance movement, so named for the snowy frocks these secret guerrillas donned when out on midnight raids to strike back against the owners where tenants’ livelihoods were at stake. Where...
