Transgender activists stormed the Iowa Capitol on Thursday as lawmakers consider a bill that would eliminate “gender identity” as a protected class from state civil rights law. “Hundreds of Iowans again packed the Iowa Capitol rotunda to protest the bill, waving pride flags, holding signs and chanting ‘no hate in our state’ and ‘you represent us.’ A line of protesters led out the building’s door as more people waited to be let inside,” the Des Moines Register reported.

Police in Loveland arrested a suspect wanted in connection with "offensive" vandalism and incendiary device incidents at a Tesla dealership in Northern Colorado. Lucy Grace Nelson was arrested just before midnight on Monday. Investigators said that Nelson, 40, returned to Loveland Tesla while in possession of additional incendiary devices along with materials attributed to vandalism on Monday evening. Detectives said they were able to apprehend Nelson before more damage occurred.

A man who entered a chapel in Redlands and said Jesus had let him down smashed three statues, caused other damage and threatened a person who was praying on Friday, Dec. 6, employees said. Alexander Paffendorf, 20, of Carlsbad, was detained by FBI agents on suspicion of 'plotting' to coordinate a mass shooting at government buildings in conjunction with Rupnow, according to an emergency gun violence restraining order reviewed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It notes that FBI agents 'saw the messages from Paffendorf to Rupnow.' It was not immediately clear how Paffendorf knew Rupnow, and Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes told the Journal Sentinel he did not have any information about the arrest in California, and referred questions to the FBI.
