The term “kafkatrapping” describes a logical fallacy that is popular within gender feminism, racial politics and other ideologies of victimhood. It occurs when you are accused of a thought crime such as sexism, racism or homophobia. You respond with an honest denial, which is then used as further confirmation of your guilt. You are now trapped in a circular and unfalsifiable argument; no one who is accused can be innocent because the structure of kafkatrapping precludes that possibility. The term derives from Franz Kafka’s novel The Trial in which a nondescript bank clerk named Josef K. is arrested; no charges...

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is sending a warning about scammers who have already taken tens of thousands of dollars from customers through phone calls. The calls, which look like they’re coming directly from the utility company, warn that a customer's power could be shut off in a matter of minutes unless they pay immediately. “Scammers are very convincing,” PG&E spokesperson Mayra Tostado said. “Their technology allows them to spoof customers. They’ll use numbers that are identical to PG&E.” The utility company said more than a thousand customers were scammed like this, in January alone, bilking them of more than...

With the continuous and systematic weakening and brainwashing of the U.S. military by the politicians/federal government/etc. and LOTS LOTS LOTS... of domestic and foreign enemies, and with the fast track "march" to communism in the U.S., etc. and "some other things" I say any day now.

Hard to believe that Kamala Harris was the top Law Enforcement Official (Attorney General) of California. Actor James Woods on twitter posted a portion of this YouTube vid, and it's shocking. It's in a conversation with Stephen Colbert on his Late Night show. The discussion is about the protests in cities across the country. And in her comments Harass is practically cheerleading the protestors -- even though we know they are bringing tremendous violence to city streets. Colbert's key question begins at the 5:23 minute mark of this 6 and a half minute video. Colbert: And I want to make...

Everyone went into class Monday morning. They were all very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship. Little Sally led off. "I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30" she said proudly. "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civic spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success." "Very good", said the teacher. Little Debbie was next. "I sold magazines," she said. "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events." "Very good, Debbie", said the teacher. Eventually, it was...

Beware. The old social security scam is surfacing once again. A call comes in saying they have found a misuse of your social security number and want you to call back. You can guess what happens then. Freepers and others, beware.

The new way police are surveilling you: Calculating your threat ‘score’ - The Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/the-new-way-police-are-surveilling-you-calculating-your-threat-score/2016/01/10/e42bccac-8e15-11e5-baf4-bdf37355da0c_story.html A national debate has played out over mass surveillance by the National Security Agency, a new generation of technology such as the Beware software being used in Fresno has given local law enforcement officers unprecedented power to peer into the lives of citizens. Nabarro said the fact that only Intrado — not the police or the public — knows how Beware tallies its scores is disconcerting. He also worries that the system might mistakenly increase someone’s threat level by misinterpreting innocuous activity on social...

A U.S. intelligence bulletin warned today that the violent outrage aimed at U.S. embassies spawned by a movie mocking the Prophet Mohammed could be spread to America by extremist groups eager to "exploit anger." The Joint Intelligence Bulletin issued by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security said "the risk of violence could increase both at home and abroad as the film continues to gain attention." "First responders should remain aware of the potential for spontaneous large crowds and protests that could overwhelm resources and should be vigilant for possible efforts to encourage peaceful protesters to commit acts of...

Noach 2011 While we normally consider Noach and his generation to be a prime example of how a society can so easily lose it all, there are additional and highly significant lessons and applications very relevant to our times. We are now still feeling the effects of the 'chamas', ‘the ‘me first’ philosophy, which led to the unscrupulous practices by so many, all too long, especially in the financial world. The ongoing grassroots ‘social protests’ for no special reason, which have spread across North America, are reason enough for concern. The decay from the top has had a ripple effect...

While Democrat Martha Coakley has raked in more than five times GOP rival Scott Brown’s donations, the underdog state senator’s fund raising is picking up steam in the final weeks of the race for U.S. Senate. Coakley, the state’s attorney general, yesterday announced she’d raised $1 million in the last six weeks for a total of $5.2 million since her campaign began. Brown’s campaign has received $700,000 in the past six weeks - considerably higher than previous totals - putting his war chest just over the $1 million mark. “There has been an explosion of interest in Scott Brown’s campaign...

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Eco-conscious customers who flock to one Washington store say they have chosen the environmentally friendly living shop because they know they are in little danger of being "greenwashed." "I can give you a ton of words that mean absolutely, positively nothing," said Daniel Velez, owner of Greater Goods, where the shelves are stocked only after careful, painstaking research. "The word natural. The word earth-friendly. It means nothing since it's not legally defined. Biodegradable, except in California, doesn't actually carry any weight of law." Around the world, there are few legal requirements companies must adhere to when marketing...

WASHINGTON — White House advisers pledged on Sunday to book administration officials on Fox News despite claims by the president's inner circle that the cable network is a GOP mouthpiece whose programming “is geared toward making money.” Last week, White House communications director Anita Dunn said Fox News operates “almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.” On Sunday, Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama's chief of staff, said, “It is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective.” In response to the criticism, Fox News executive Michael Clemente on Sunday accused...

Between the town hall meetings and the tea party rallies, millions of Americans are taking to the streets to protest a government gone berserk. They are angry and determined to take their country back. But there are snakes in the grass intent on using this movement to return to power, not the people, but the Republican establishment. If this happens we lose everything, including our country.

WASHINGTON — If you're planning a garage sale or organizing a church bazaar, you'd best beware: You could be breaking a new federal law. As part of a campaign called Resale Roundup, the federal government is cracking down on the secondhand sales of dangerous and defective products. The initiative, which targets toys and other products for children, enforces a new provision that makes it a crime to resell anything that's been recalled by its manufacturer.

WASHINGTON – After weeks of secretive talks, a bipartisan group in the Senate edged closer Monday to a health care compromise that omits a requirement for businesses to offer coverage to their workers and lacks a government insurance option that President Barack Obama favors, according to numerous officials. Like bills drafted by Democrats, the proposal under discussion by six members on the Senate Finance Committee would bar insurance companies from denying coverage to any applicant. Nor could insurers charge higher premiums on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions. But it jettisons other core Democratic provisions in a reach for bipartisanship...

The message that popped into Laurie Gale's Facebook inbox last month seemed harmless enough -- a friend had seen a video of Ms. Gale and had sent a link so Ms. Gale could view it. The link led to a video site that prompted her to update her video software, which she did. "Within seconds, everything started shutting itself down," says Ms. Gale, a 37-year-old lamp-works artist from Versailles, Ky. Ms. Gale's new Dell Inspiron laptop had been infected with malicious software, or malware, that has spread through social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace. "I cried for an hour,"...
