Governor Dayton hired Kathryn Clark to head the state's trade office which is involved in international trade to the tune of 14-billion dollars a year. On the campaign trail in September, then-candidate Dayton promised to eliminate the Trade Office saying it was nothing but international junkets. His pledge to cut the office, he said, would save taxpayers 3-million dollars out of the budget.
