  • Russia's tanks in Ukraine have a 'jack-in-the-box' design flaw. And the West has known about it since the Gulf war

Russian tanks with their tops blown off are just the latest sign that Russia's invasion of Ukraine isn't going to plan. Hundreds of Russian tanks are thought to have been destroyed since Moscow launched its offensive, with British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace on Monday estimating it had lost as many as 580. But Moscow's problems go beyond the sheer number of tanks it has lost. Experts say battlefield images show Russian tanks are suffering from a defect that Western militaries have known about for decades and refer to as the "jack-in-the-box effect." Moscow, they say, should have seen the problem...

Balancing these conflicting requirements was a huge technical challenge to overcome – until the Magnum Lite. Magnum Research calls the action "gas-assisted blowback," but it is not. Gas assistance uses a muzzle booster to move the whole barrel (as on a Maxim machine...
  • 12ga Autoloader Shotguns: Any Recommendations?

    12/28/2008 6:14:14 PM PST · by GusBreacher · 110 replies · 4,883+ views
I'm looking to buy a 12ga, autoloader/semi-auto 12ga, and I'm needing some sage advice. I've read that the US Military has used these. Beyond that, I know zip about shotguns, except that I have my Grandpa's 10ga, single barrel, cracked stock, which hasn't been fired in 50+ years. (A gunsmith is going to work that piece long before I ever do. It's a "mantle-hanger", for now.) Can anyone offer me some firsthand experience, or opinions on some units to try/buy? Price? I'd like to stay under $1,000 if possible, including sight, case, cleaning kit, 500rnds.

Anybody have anything good or bad to say about the HK P7M8? It looks like a sweet gun, though expensive. Thanks.
