A federal COVID loan to the art gallery repping Hunter Biden more than doubled after his father took office, records show. The Georges Berges Gallery initially received a $150,000 COVID “disaster assistance loan” from the SBA last year. But the loan was recently “revised,” with the SBA approving a further $350,000 to the gallery this summer. The approval came on July 26, in the lead-up to Berges’ exclusive marketing of 15 paintings by the president’s scandal-scarred son. In addition to the COVID loans, the SoHo gallery received nearly $80,000 in two payments in April 2020 and February 2021 under the...

hould children be allowed in art galleries? In 2014 Jake Chapman caused a minor furore, and prompted a lot of column inches, when he said that taking kids to galleries was a “waste of time”. He told The Independent parents were "arrogant" for thinking their children could understand artists like Jackson Pollock or Mark Rothko, adding "children are not human yet". The two children in this video, which has been going viral in recent days, clearly couldn’t give a hoot what Jake Chapman has to say about their appreciation of art. ... And as their parents look on, filming their...

This is breaking news, so unfortunately I do not have a tremendous amount of details. This is what is known: Swedish security police have arrested four terror suspects on suspicion of "preparing a terrorist attack." Today being September 11, fear of terrorism is much greater than on normal days. The four were arrested in Sweden's second largest city Goteborg early Sunday, according to Security police spokesman Stefan Johansson. No further comments were given.

Sarasota, FL -- A new Planned Parenthood abortion center in this Florida city will feature an interesting addition, an art gallery. Because local officials in Sarasota require retail space at the street level of any development to encourage shopping and tourism, the abortion business had to think outside the box. So, when it build its new abortion center, relying on $1.3 million in local grants from three community foundations, Planned Parenthood teamed up with Ringling College of Art and Design. Tompkinsville artist Scott LoBaido is rolling out the welcome mat for next week's Republican National Convention, with a patriotic art show entitled "Hail to the Chief," opening tomorrow at a Manhattan gallery. And the unapologetically Republican LoBaido has a message for GOP convention delegates, who will spend four days in Democratic New York City beginning on Monday.

http://adeimantus.blogspot.com/2004/06/instant-rehabilitation-of-saddam.html In his report on the transfer of sovereignty, Associated Press writer Tarek el-Tablawy includes the following quote to buttress his assertion that "the response [to the handover] in Baghdad was mixed":"Iraqis are happy inside, but their happiness is marred by fear and melancholy," said artist Qassim al-Sabti. "Of course I feel I'm still occupied. You can't find anywhere in the world people who would accept occupation. America these days, is like death. Nobody can escape from it."I am always suspicious of these man-on-the street-type of quotes, which reporters too often use selectively as a device to interject their own...
