LONDON, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A U.S. intelligence analyst is accusing rap artists in Britain of moving young Muslims toward extremism through lyrics about the Iraq war. The Times of London reported Saturday that New York Police Department analyst Madeleine Gruen said the music of some groups is "very persuasive because it is giving young people ideas and those ideas are what might motivate someone to become a jihadi."

The Washington Timeswww.washingtontimes.com Islamo-fascist hate rapBy Diana WestPublished November 11, 2005 At least the once-Western world is consistent: Like the terrorism that has engraved the blood-drenched anniversaries of September 11, March 11, and July 7 into collective memory, and has transformed Amman, Amsterdam, Baghdad, Bali, Beslan, Davao, Hadera, Haifa, Jakarta, Jerusalem, Nairobi, New Dehli, Sharm al-Sheikh, Tel Aviv and Tunisia into hallowed outposts of mass murder, the rioting that has convulsed France has nothing to do with Islam. At least, that's the agreed-upon narrative. It's our story, the subtext, the thread to which we cling. The problem driving "youths"...

When Bassam Khalaf raps, he calls himself the Arabic Assassin. On the Web: Khalaf's music Web site. NOTE: This site contains obscene material A Houston-based rapper said his decision to call himself the "Arabic Assassin" was meant to stir up a bit of controversy in the music business. The stage persona — along with some incendiary lyrics in one of his songs — also helped get Bassam Khalaf fired this month from his job as a baggage screener at Bush Intercontinental Airport. "I thought it was kind of ridiculous. What does my music have to do with my job?" Khalaf...

HOUSTON — When Bassam Khalaf raps, he's the Arabic Assassin. His unreleased CD, "Terror Alert," includes rhymes about flying a plane into a building and descriptions of himself as a "crazy, suicidal Arabic ... equipped with bombs." Until last week, Khalaf also worked as a baggage screener at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. "I've been screening your bags for the past six months, and you don't even know it," said Khalaf, who also said Thursday that he is not really a terrorist and that his rhymes are exaggerations meant to gain publicity. Andrea McCauley, a spokeswoman for the regional Transportation Security...

Bassam Khalaf was paid to help keep US air travel safe as a baggage screener. His alter ego, the Arabic Assassin, rapped about flying a plane into a building. The Transportation Security Administration could not reconcile the two and fired him last week, saying his free speech rights as an aspiring rap singer did not extend to his right to check luggage at Houston Intercontinental Airport. "I was one of the ones screening the bags thoroughly," Khalaf said on Friday. "I wouldn't let a bomb get on a plane." He also was the self-proclaimed "Arabic Assassin," who didn't do songs...

The discovery and dismissal of yet another terror-supporting Arabic TSA (Transportation Security Administration) baggage screener should be no surprise. In April, I wrote about Sadeq Naji Ahmed, a TSA screener in Detroit, who was dismissed from the Air Force for praising Bin Laden, the 9/11 attacks, and future attacks on America--but then hired by the TSA to screen bags at Detroit Metro Airport. The latest, Bassam Khalaf, a just-fired screener at Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport, is a Palestinian rapper who praises terrorism, flying planes into buildings, and describes himself as a "crazy, suicidal Arabic . . . equipped with bombs."...
