  • Why I Decided NOT to leave Free Republic

I month or two ago (maybe longer) I posted a thread on why I was leaving Free Republic. I was angry over a post that was pulled (which Jim very nicely re-posted). I took some heated comments, and some justifiably so. I registered with a couple of conservative websites, and I will maintain those registrations. But after comparing those other websites, along with a few others, I have come to the conclusion that I was wrong for threatening to leave and I wanted to make an apology for my actions to Jim and others who were angered or offended.

I decided to end my self-imposed exile from posting due to information that I received this past weekend from ‘a little birdie’ in Washington, which I subsequently had confirmed by another ‘insider’ if you can call him that. You know I won’t tell, so don’t bother asking me for names, links, or further information. I trust these individuals, and have received accurate information from them before and shared it here on Free Republic. Of course, all are free to either accept or reject what I am about to share, but if you know anything about the Dog, I don’t change...
  • VANITY NOTICE: I've just learned that I am an "EXTREMIST!" WOO HOO!! [This is NOT an OPUS]

VANITY NOTICE: I've just learned that I am an "EXTREMIST!" WOO HOO!! Nicest compliment I've received in a long time. "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice; moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." Y'all might want to be careful who you hang out with. If you are pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-constitution, pro-Liberty, pro-America and post to FreeRepublic.com, you risk being labeled as an "extremist." That puts you in the company of extremist folks like George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Ben Franklin, & Co. As extremists, "We must all hang together, or assuredly...

For those of you who don’t know, Jim and the mods treat old timers a little different than newbies. They get a little more slack, a few more mulligans than those who signed up in last four years or so. I always wondered if that was a good policy. After all, why should the crusty buggers be treated any differently than someone who signed up last week? Are they more intelligent, are their arguments more cohesive…persuasive? Do they have any more or less to contribute to this community we call the Free Republic? Not necessarily. But they do have one...

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania May 8, 2003 For Immediate Release: Long-time Freeper William Wallace announced today that he has no complaints whatsoever about FreeRepublic. Wallace claims he harbors no animosity, deep-seated grudges or pathological hatred toward forum management and moderators. “I’m not as active on FR as I was during the Clinton years and the election controversy,” Wallace admitted. “I lurk a bit, but rarely post these days.” Wallace went through a period where he spent most of his free time here, but now mainly uses the forum as another news source and antidote to the mainstream media spin. “For the most...
