Just when the Fuhrer thought could sit back and watch all his favorite leftist actors, he finds out his favorite - Charlie Sheen - has been fired. And he goes on one of his usual anti-semitic rants. WARNING: This one uses a little stronger language in the subtitles than what I usually use...but remember.. it's Hitler speaking...and since Hitler was a leftist (my usual tweek to the haters out there, especially because it is true..) - I don't think it should surprise anyone... BP's share price took another 2pc knock, after the chief of the company's oil spill response unit admitted that Hurricane Alex has spread oil inland. Robert Dudley, chief of BP's Gulf Coast restoration efforts, said high seas and winds were to blame for the growth of the slick. • BP said it was still investigating claims by a US freelance photojournalist that workers have been trucking new sand to Louisiana beaches. The new layers appear to conceal tar balls caused by the slick. • Admiral Thad Allen, the US incident commander, stuck to the official target date of August for...

The approach of Tropical Storm Alex apparently hasn’t had an effect on border violence. This morning, sources confirmed a gunfire attack on the Matamoros building of Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office –PGR. The building is located on Sixth Street, a few blocks away from B&M International Bridge. Official information from the PGR hasn’t been released and calls to their public relations office in Reynosa went unanswered this morning. A source with firsthand knowledge of criminal activity in Matamoros reported that several gunmen in SUV’s fired upon the building late Monday or Tuesday morning. The information was corroborated by a Mexican law...

Based on the various media accounts I've read it's a mess, reminiscent of Robert Heinlein's little ditty, When in danger and in doubt Run in circles, scream and shout! The danger and the doubt are certainly present -- probably as much of the latter as of the former, and the screaming and shouting are abundant. It seems as though an analogy to elephant matings is appropriate: lots of stomping of feet and roaring, everything done at a high level, with results, maybe, in eleven months. While the stomping and shouting are going on at all levels, high and low, numerous...

Alex has moved back over water, in the Gulf of Campeche, and has begun to build in intensity. The primary dynamic computer model tracks are showing landfalls on the south Texas coast, between Brownsville and Corpus Christi. The official forecast has been creeping northward, and I would expect further northward shifts. But Alex remains a tough storm to forecast. Although the environment remains favorable for hurricane formation, the models (both NMC's and our in house versions) for some reason are not intensifying the storm much. In fact, the HWRF is not even allowing Alex to become a hurricane before landfall....

According to a new documentary, disgraced New York Governor Eliot Spitzer wasn't brought down by his penchant for high-priced call girls. He wasn't brought down by committing questionable, if not illegal, bank transactions to pay for the call girls. He wasn't brought down by his misuse of the New York State Police for political purposes. No, in the world of "Untitled Eliot Spitzer Film" director Alex Gibney, "Spitzer's takedown of financial industry bigwigs... paved the way for his downfall." According to the New York Post: Gibney made no apology for his pro-Spitzer take and the audience, which included Police Commissioner...

So, I have a conservative pal of mine who - over the past few years - has really become a huge fan of Alex Jones. I don't know a ton about this guy other than that he seems to really propagate certain "conspiracy theories" and such. I tuned into his streaming show today and it just seems like he's really full of a LOT of hate - lots of name-calling, invoking the Lord, Hell and Satan in regards to certain topics. Dunno.. .he seem's a bit "off" to me.. Anyone?

Rush Wrestling With Faith On New Album Neil Peart September 11, 2006, 3:50 PM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. Rush has penned eight songs for its next studio album, which should be out in early 2007, according to drummer Neil Peart. The artist tells Billboard.com his lyrics for the as-yet-untitled set were greatly influenced by his motorcycle journeys throughout the United States, chronicled in the new book "Roadshow: Landscape With Drums." Peart says he was struck by the ubiquity of religious billboards that have sprung up on America's highways, which got him thinking about some weighty topics. "Just seeing the power...

Beliefnet.com is holding a reader survey to pick the most inspiring person of 2005. Among the finalists is Alex Scott, a little girl who died of cancer last year. Alex was diagnosed with cancer two days before her first birthday, and as she got older, she became quite an activist: In 2000, when she was just four years old, Alex told her parents she wanted to raise money for cancer research. She chose a time-honored kid's project--a front-yard lemonade stand--but unlike most lemonade stands, she raised $2,000 in a single day. Soon, Alex's friends joined in to help, opening lemonade...

Researchers explore whether parrot has concept of zeroA bird seems to have hit on a concept that eluded mathematicians for centuries - possibly during a temper tantrum.June 22, 2005 Special to World Science Researchers are exploring whether a parrot has developed a numerical concept that eluded mathematicians for centuries: zero.Oddly, it seems he may have achieved the feat during a temper tantrum, the researchers say. Although zero is an obvious notion to most of us, it wasn't to people long ago. Scholars say it came into widespread use in the West only in the 1600s by way of India, which...

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann insisted on Monday night that the case of Armstrong Williams taking money from the Bush administration combined with the CBS panel finding no political bias behind CBS's hit job on President Bush, discredits the idea of any liberal media bias. Olbermann also portrayed CBS as a victim compared to the perpetrators at FNC since CBS News "played within the journalistic rules" while "you're not going to see Fox News appointing an independent investigation into its own journalistic ethics or lack thereof" for running the Swift Boat ads which were "full of distortions." At the top of the...

"Jeopardy!" champ Ken Jennings is now the $2 million man. The game show's all-time winner increased his total to more than $2,006,000 on Monday's show. It was his 59th straight winning Jeopardy appearance. Jennings also has the longest winning streak in game show history. The Utah software engineer could be on Jeopardy a while longer. The trade publication TV Week reported last month that Jennings lost in an episode that has already been taped, but hasn't been aired yet. His reported total for 75 shows: $2.5 million
