After a two-year investigation, the Department of Justice (DOJ) claimed that Yale University has illegally discriminated against “dozens of white and Asian” students in its admission process. “There is no such thing as a nice form of race discrimination,” said Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Eric Dreiband. Responses to my "What Blacks Can Do, What Whites Can't" column were overwhelming in volume and in intensity. Blacks are definitely divided on this subject. Some African Americans went so far as to call me "self-hating," for bringing up the double standard many of us are operating under.
