Thee political world is all atwitter following Donald Trump’s statement last Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina that, “believe it or not,” he regrets having said “the wrong thing” in the past, “particularly where it may have caused personal pain,” a list which might include Heidi Cruz, Megyn Kelly, and Ghazala Khan. ABINGDON, Md. (AP) — A gunman fatally shot a sheriff’s deputy inside a crowded restaurant at lunchtime Wednesday and killed another deputy in a shootout nearby, authorities and witnesses said. The suspect was killed in the shootout not far from the shopping center where the restaurant was situated, Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said. Remarkably, no bystanders were hurt. Police haven’t released a motive for the shooting, but the sheriff said he believed the first deputy who approached the gunman was shot because he was wearing a uniform. The shooter, 67-year-old David Brian Evans, had warrants out for his arrest...

WJZ's Jessica Kartalija was on hand as more than 2,000 Marylanders came to say goodbye to Petty Officer Second Class David Roddy. The 32-year-old sailor was a member of an elite unit that specialized in diffusing bombs. His team was responding to an incident when a bomb exploded. After getting wind that protesters could show up at the funeral, supporters showed up in full force to honor the fallen sailor. "There is no greater sacrifice than to give a life for other people's liberty," said Mike Wooding. "We think it is horrible that people are here to dishonor that...
