The self-righteous 99 percenters would have you believe income in America is unfairly distributed, hence the 1 percenters. At the top of today’s news is Mitt Romney revealing that he pays only 15 percent of his rather large, by any measure, income in taxes. People who would find this objectionable are those who subscribe to the progressive tax rate, which dictates that the more you earn, the greater percentage the government should take from you. This progressive tax structure should be offensive to fair-minded people. . .

Meet The 53%. Who are they? The term 53% refers to the people who are actually paying taxes for themselves and the rest of the country. The 53% is a group of responsible young people organizing across the country. However, this group is not camping out in parks around the country and demanding the entire capitalist system be destroyed. These men and women have jobs (most of them work at more than one job in order to make ends meet), but they are talking about attending the Minneapolis Occupy Wall St. protest scheduled for today – Friday, October 7th. Here’s...

More than 6 million Americans have been out of work for more than six months and they're stepping up efforts to join together in support of increased help from the federal government, writes Annie Lowrey of the Michigan Messenger, who's written several in-depth stories on the problem of long-term unemployment. "99ers" — those long-term unemployed who have exhausted all available 99 weeks of unemployment benefits — have formed the American 99ers Union to lobby Congress to create a Tier V of federal unemployment benefits, she reports. The coalition is comprised of a number of groups: Advocacy For the Long Term...

Glenn Beck has a message for the chronically unemployed: You're a bunch of un-American losers. The Fox News host thinks some 99ers — those who have used up their 99 weeks of unemployment benefits—should be embarrassed to call themselves Americans (Snip) "Go out and get a job," said Beck. "You may not want the job. Work at McDonald's. Work two jobs. There has been plenty of times in my life I've done jobs I hated, but I had no choice. Two years is plenty of time to have lived off your neighbor's wallet."

Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke with reporters today defending the nation's jobless. On the heels of the news from the latest report from the US Department of Labor indicating that the number of jobless claims rose by 13,000 (the highest level since March), Nancy Pelosi lashed out at members of Congress continuing to vote against the jobless. When speaking about the recent failure of H.R. 4213 and other measures which extend jobless benefits she stated today that unemployment benefits do the following: "It injects demand into the economy," Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the...
