On August 28, 2022, in Utica, New York, the Attorney General’s office of Letitia James paid out over $21,000 in gift cards for 3D printed “ghost guns.” The guns were printed by an anonymous entrepreneur on a $200 printer he received for Christmas. On July 30, 2022, Houston, Texas, organized a gun “buyback” event. It was the first such event held in Houston. “Buyback” is an Orwellian term because the guns were never owned by the government, so it cannot “buy” them “back.” More appropriately, it was a gun turn-in event. A study found half of all women will experience at least one false positive mammogram over a decade of annual breast cancer screening with digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography). The risk of false positive results after 10 years of screening is lower in women screened every other year. A false positive is when a mammogram is flagged as abnormal, but there is no cancer in the breast. The three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit found the Attorney General of New Jersey is under Texas jurisdiction for this case. The case is Defense Distributed v. Grewal. Ross Peters, in Wisconsin, has created a hybrid 3D printed functional cartridge revolver, with metal components. It has been demonstrated on Youtube. The design is an interesting hybrid pepperbox, with rifled barrels. The video gives a good explanation and documentation of this six shot pepperbox. Peters designed the handgun to fire .22 shorts.
