Comedian Jim Gaffigan’s blistering swipes at Vice President Kamala Harris and fellow Democrats at the Al Smith Dinner have spread like wildfire on social media — with some calling his takedown jokes the “murder of an entire political party.” Gaffigan repeatedly took shots at the Democratic nominee during Thursday night’s glitzy event in Manhattan after Harris became the first presidential candidate in 40 years to skip the light-hearted Catholic charity bash. “You know, this event has been referred to as the Catholic Met Gala. Twenty-two percent of Americans identify as Catholic. Catholics will be a key demographic in every battleground state. I’m sorry, why is Vice President Harris not here?” the jokester said as he emceed the charity dinner.

“I mean, consider this, this is a room full of Catholics and Jews in New York City. This is a layup for the Democratic nominee,” Gaffigan said.
“In her defense, I mean she did find time to appear on The View, Howard Stern, Colbert, and the longtime staple of campaigning, the Call Her Daddy podcast,” he continued. “You know what I think it is? I think she doesn’t like me. Chuck, do I have bad breath?” “The Democrats have been telling us Trump’s reelection is a threat to democracy. In fact, they were so concerned of this threat, they staged a coup, ousted their democratically elected incumbent and installed Kamala Harris,” Gaffigan said. “In other words, all her dreams have come true. It really makes me consider the power of prayer, right Cardinal? Sometimes prayers take three-and-half years and a George Clooney op-ed.”

I just randomly tuned in and saw this, great line. Gaffigan should do Gutfeld.
He is far Left and can be very annoying. But he does understand humor and he went there to be funny. Mission accomplished.
“I’ve never found Gaffigan funny...until now. To bad he’ll never work again.”
That was part of his routine. He said: I can criticize Harris, I’ll lose friends, and hurt my career. I can criticize Trump, I’ll lose friends, and help my career.
Gaffigan is a funny guy. Really funny last night. But, as I recall, he is one of the folks that some months ago said he was leaving if Trump won. So, his ability to overcome his political bias that makes his equal insult performance even more impressive
Maybe he’s going to path of Ricky Gervais, who is also way on the left, but not afraid to go after his fellow leftist travelers.
He actually made a joke about that.
Most comedians are leftists, as they’ve chosen a career path that is devoid of any stability and usually has no financial success. Lots of them have mental and emotional issues as well.
I’m convinced that most, at their honest core, are basically looking for the nanny state to take care of them when their ‘careers’ won’t. A lot of those that do become successful and wealthy end up like that bum Letterman, always asking people if they feel like phonies (like he does).

Wow, that’s NOT the Gaffigan I watched. He was tedious, droned on forever, had a couple of mild chuckles, but nothing funny.
But Trump...he had me run stitches and laughing uproariously throughout his talk. He had a far better speech writer and has great comic timing and delivery.
As far as I know, he made one tweet in 2020 that was anti-Trump, but that was the only political thing he would ever do.
If he was more political, you would expect a lot more political from him. Maybe his agent told him he needed to do that.
How do you figure he is far left. I only remember one political tweet from him. He has five kids and always talks about what a devout Catholic his wife is. Where do you get far left?

He claimed it was his 21st wedding anniversary, then admitted he was lying. It couldn't have been his anniversary since Oct. 17, 2003, was a Friday, and Catholic weddings are never held on Fridays.
