Debates have come across stating that the .22 rifle is not a serious caliber for those into guns. The .22 caliber doesn’t have the knock down power to take down a medium size game or let alone stop an attacker inside your home. From a survivalist needs, the .22 caliber is one of the many invaluable source to have when feeding yourself and family. For small game like rabbits and squirrels, the .22 caliber is perfect. Using a larger caliber is just a poor choice of tools for this task. The availability and pricing for the .22 caliber is on...

The Marlin .22 shown above was legally an "assault weapon" in New Jersey from 1990 to 2018 On June 13, 2018, the New Jersey Legislature ratcheted up its already dubious ban on standard capacity magazines of more than 15 rounds. The new infringement banned possession of standard capacity magazines of more than 10 rounds. The law was immediately challenged in court. On 5 December, 2018, a three judge panel of the Third Circuit ruled the law was Constitutional, because the Second Amendment is a second rate right in the Bill of Rights. The previous law in New Jersey had banned semi-auto...

The new Savage A22 impresses with its accuracy and volume. Dotzie was telling me to hurry. Treed at the base of a big white oak, my little mountain cur barked impatiently to inform me there was a squirrel up above that required my undivided attention. Out of breath from hurrying to her side, it took me several minutes to spot the gray squirrel pinned to a limb. Still a little shaky, I pulled a miss on my first shot and the squirrel darted through the upper limbs to begin his high-wire act. I settled down by the third shot, and...

This was tested with a Henry Lever Action Rifle and a S&W M&P 22. The purpose of the test was that there are some people do use a 22 long rifle for home defense. If they missed their target and hit the drywall in their home. The video was demonstrated by 22Plinkster and discovered most of the .22 rounds went through 9 drywall and some into the tenth drywall, its very impressive for a 22 round. See the test here.

I'm convinced that the Ruger 10/22 is the most popular .22 rifle of all time. Not only is it a great little rifle right out of the box, but there are probably a million aftermarket items available that enhance its functionality even further, making it the most “trick-out-able” gun on the market. Not bad for a rifle that first hit the market in 1964. The 10/22 became my go-to rifle pretty quickly. How could I not love it? It’s extremely dependable, accurate and, as I mentioned, you can trick it out as much as you want. But it was my...
