Forgive me if this has already been covered in one of the previous threads but this is just too screwy for me to digest! Ok, just trying to make some sense of this nonsense in West Virginia and Nevada from last night. So I was crunching numbers from the GOP tide in both states from the House Races vs The Senate Race! Here is what I came up with. WV: Manchin: 281,661.....Raese: 227,960 3 House seats: (R) 279,686..... (D) 225,651 NV: Reed: 361,655.....Angle: 320,996 3 House seats:(R) 356,909..... (D) 316,877 Really??? Maybe it's just me, but I find it hard...

Republicans thundered into the majority in the House of Representatives Tuesday night, making historic gains by a proportion not seen in more than 70 years. The party so far has won more than 60 seats, with about 65 net gains projected by the time all ballots are counted -- far more than the party needed to seize the majority. Democrats, with the help of a victory by Majority Leader Harry Reid, held the Senate by a narrow margin but suffered several big losses in an election that just about put Republicans on equal footing with the president's party.

If Republicans are pleased with their gains in Congress today, just wait until the next election when Republicans will be well positioned to take a majority in the Senate. A total of 21 Democratic senators are be up for re-election in 2012 in what will be a politically difficult climate for many of them. In contrast, just 10 Republicans face reelection in 2012. Many of the Democrats who face re-election won their first elections in the Democratic wave of 2006. Some of those senators will face an electorate that is much different than it was when they were first elected...

I know that Free Republic is California based and do not wish to say you should abandon your families who might live locally etc...but something serious has to be said here. My advice to any Republicans/Conservatives who live in California. You have great numbers to you...about 3 million plus. Do us greater justice...if you want to stay on the west coast for the views...move up to Oregon and Washington State. Their elections are won by razor thin margins up there.
