...For months, the Democratic nominee has advocated a rough 16-month timetable for withdrawal, and for months, his Republican rival has said such a schedule would amount to "surrender." That was a fertile ground for debate. But last week ...Bush and Maliki agreed on the idea of a "time horizon" for withdrawing American troops, and Maliki said that U.S. troops should leave "as soon as possible, as far as we're concerned." "U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama talks about sixteen months," he said. "That, we think, would be the right time frame for a withdrawal, with the possibility of slight changes." All...

I had a really good post all ready to go.  There was a video posted by the Trinity United Church of Christ, which I found on their YouTube page, of Louis Farrakhan being honored with the Jeremiah A. Wright Trumpeter award.  It's gone from YouTube.  And there was a video of disgraced Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick receiving a similar award.  It's gone from YouTube, too. But the one I'm really mad about is the one of the church's new pastor, Otis Moss III, talking about gangster rap and crack cocaine.  They pulled that one, as well.  Maybe it had something to...
  • Obama endorsed by anti-war group ( MoveOn.org )

LOS ANGELES - Barack Obama picked up the endorsement of a leading anti-war group Friday and said Democratic presidential rival Hillary Rodham Clinton still has not adequately explained her vote to go into Iraq. Obama told reporters in a news conference that, even though Clinton explains how she would like to end the war, her explanation for her vote leading into the war is disingenuous. He said his opposition against the war from the start will make him the stronger rival to Republican front-runner and war backer John McCain in the general election. Obama's long-standing opposition to the war helped...

Well, cms, because they're hilarious. In fact, I'd say they're the best bits of political comedy we've seen so far this cycle. The "SwiftKids" videos don't "attack" the candidates--they attack the media for obsessing over Clinton's femininity, Obama's name and Edwards' haircut, and the rest of America for listening. That they manage to do so while amplifying the manipulative tone and texture of low-blow swiftboating--see: the children--is what elevates them from snark to satire. Anyway, watch 'em now and decide for yourself.
