Defeated U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont., refused to concede Wednesday saying there remain votes yet to be counted in his tight race against the declared winner, Democrat Jon Tester. Burns, who has not commented to reporters on the race since the votes were counted Tuesday night, released a statement at 1:47 p.m. “Jon Tester ran a good race and has the lead right now, but it is extremely close,” Burns said. “The state of Montana has a process in place, and it is our obligation to see it through. There are still votes out there that deserve to be counted....

INDIANAPOLIS -- All of the votes cast in Marion County still had not been counted as of early Wednesday afternoon because some voting machines had not been turned in to election headquarters. The county's Democratic Party attacked County Clerk Doris Anne Sadler for what they called her mismanagement of Tuesday's election, 6News' Derrik Thomas reported. Democrat Chairman Ed Treacy compared the county's election troubles with what used to happen in Soviet bloc countries. Sixty-six regular voting machines were not returned to election headquarters as of noon Wednesday, and none of the electronic voting machines was returned, Thomas reported. The outcome...

VOTING PROBLEMS Predictions of disaster proved wrong However, FBI is looking into few reports of threats Election Day was tainted by complaints of dirty tricks that led to FBI investigations in at least two states, with some voters reporting intimidating phone calls, misleading sample ballots and even an armed man outside a polling place. Nonetheless, poll watchers said voting across American went relatively well, despite machine malfunctions and long waits in some states. "For 7,800 jurisdictions in this country, it looked like things came out pretty cotton-pickin' well," said Doug Lewis, executive director of Election Center, an nonpartisan organization of...

Programming error miscounts votes in south Texas Election official catches electronic voting maching problem DALLAS — A programming error by a widely used Nebraska-based election system company Tuesday appears to be isolated to Hidalgo County in South Texas, election officials said. The county's top election official discovered the mistake when early voting results in House District 28 put long-shot Constitution Party candidate Ron Avery ahead of popular Democratic incumbent Henry Cuellar by almost 2,000 votes with roughly 2,200 tabulated. "We knew there was no way that could be correct," said Teresa Navarro, Hidalgo County elections administrator. The problem was not...

RICHMOND, Virginia (CNN) -- The FBI is taking a preliminary look at allegations that some voters in eight Virginia counties received deceptive phone calls before Election Day, law enforcement sources said. State election officials expressed concern about the calls Monday but said they were hesitant to launch an immediate investigation for fear of politicizing the vote. The Virginia State Board of Elections notified the U.S. Justice Department and state attorney general's office on Monday, said James Alcorn, the board's policy adviser. He said neither state nor federal officials were likely to "get involved" until after the election. The immediate response...

The DUmmies are already getting their excuses in order. See, if they don't win tonight then that means the election was stolen as you can see in this crybaby THREAD whiningly titled, "If we don't win (and we will) mark my words: It was stolen." This reminds me of a kid I used to know who said that if he didn't win at Monopoly or Scrabble or any of a number of other games then it didn't mean he lost, it just meant that someone else cheated. So let us now watch the DUmmies do a pre-emptive excuse strike...
  • FREEPER DENIED RIGHT TO VOTE (TX)

    11/07/2006 6:19:26 PM PST · by FNG · 16 replies · 583+ views
I just stood in line an hour to vote here in TX, and I was denied a vote because I was not registered. I put in for registration when I changed my TDL address, but it was never processed. The official at the polls told me it happened to a bunch of people. I live in Gregg county, and the DPS office is in Longview. I'm planning on calling the state number and complaining. If I were not a Caucasian Republican, I'd have an army down here tomorrow and make the news. This SUCKS. FNG out.

I wrote last week that we'd see more outbreaks of anti-military vandalism leading up to Election Day. In upstate New York on Halloween eve, "(expletive) Bush" and a depiction of a penis were scrawled on the 20-by-40-foot flag and similar pictures in the same shade of green were painted on the American Legion Mohawk Post. Now there's this despicable act in Boise, Idaho reportedly committed by the sons of a state Democrat legislator: Police arrested 24-year old Michael Burkett of Boise early Sunday morning after officers with Capitol Mall Security reported spotting him vandalizing two flag polls on the grounds...

(Madison, WI)….First it was “Smokes for Votes.” Then it was “Pastries for Votes.” Now Democrats are continuing their assault on the health of voters by offering “Wieners for votes.” Democrats in Eau Claire are illegally offering free food in an effort to bribe people for their vote. Today, a complaint had to be filed against Democrat Kathleen Vinehout’s campaign for handing out free food in violation of Wisconsin’s “election bribery” law. The Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Rick Wiley, says he doubts even free food will help Vinhout’s campaign. “Apparently, Kathleen’s campaign is so out of steam,...
