The Democratic candidate in the Texas Senate race has a slight edge over his Republican opponent in a new poll released Friday. Forty-seven percent of likely general election voters in the state backed state Rep. James Talarico (D) in the poll from Texas Public Opinion Research, compared with 44 percent for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).
