The state of California cannot mandate the public release of personal information on gun owners, according to a judge’s ruling late last week. San Diego Superior Court Judge Katherine Bacal in San Diego County issued an injunction against California’s Assembly Bill 173, ruling that by allowing the law to remain in effect while it was being challenged in court unconstitutionally risks the privacy rights of California gun owners. “Accordingly, plaintiffs have shown that the balance of harms weighs in favor of issuing the injunction,” she noted in her order. The Reload reports: The injunction represents a win for gun-rights advocates...

The US economy officially entered recession in July after two straight quarters of negative GDP growth. Inflation in the US today is the highest its been in over 40 years. Gas prices are soaring and peaked over $5 a gallon before receding slightly to their current rate. Granholm announced in August, “We know it’s a transition. But ultimately we are pressing on the accelerator to be able to move to ‘clean’ because if we don’t have to rely on the volatility of fossil fuels or of countries that are exporting fossil fuels that don’t have our interests at heart.” The...

Russia is a dangerous place to take a fall. Every year, Russian citizens are killed by accidental falls, either out of windows or down staircases. I do not want to tell Vladimir Putin how to run his country, but really: He should set up some version of OSHA to make windows and stairs safer for Russian VIPs. Russia is such an perilous place that it’s worth considering what might happen if Putin himself were to slip and fall out of a window.

In 2021, the duplicitous FBI offered Christopher Steele $1 million to verify the unfounded claims made against Donald J. Trump in the crazy “Pee-Pee” dossier. This is understandable because the dossier was so absurd that someone needed to be paid off with a lot of money to verify it was true while maintaining a straight face. Also, that is a problem because the FBI had already sworn the crazy dossier was true in 2016. The job of the agency is supposed to be to validate what they swore to as true. This story is proof that the whole Russia hoax...

In less than one month, if Proposal 3 passes, children will have a right under the Michigan constitution to walk into one of Planned Parenthood’s 12 so-called “gender affirming” facilities in the state and, without parental knowledge or consent, obtain puberty blockers. And with Planned Parenthood of Michigan promising “gender affirming” care “via telehealth in the coming months,” Michiganders’ kids won’t even need to leave their house to obtain these sterilizing drugs. Passage of Prop 3 will also give boys a constitutional right to be castrated and girls the right under Michigan’s constitution to be sterilized by way of a...

Today the NY Times published a surprisingly interesting story about the current state of academia. The focus is one professor at NYU, Maitland Jones, who has long been considered one of the top professors in the field of organic chemistry. Jones taught at Princeton until 2007 and then moved to NYU where he had a year-to-year contract. His textbook on the subject is now in its fifth edition. But this year Jones was fired after a group of about 80 students started a petition claiming his class was too hard.…last spring, as the campus emerged from pandemic restrictions, 82 of...

It was worse than we thought. It turns out that Hunter Biden’s drug enslavement, sex addiction, and penchant for Russkie hookers didn’t stop there. It was probably worse than his hinky “big guy” business deals, diamond “gifts,” and unearned Ukrainian paydays. There was a Chinese spy involved. Just like Democrat Eric Swalwell’s Fang Fang. Hold on, I’ve got to catch my breath. Be honest: You thought it would be that Putin inserted, so to speak, hookers who would double back and sting the first son. But those chickens haven’t come home to roost — at least as far as we...

When the FBI raided Trump last month, we knew it was bad. But most of us know that this latest show of brute force is even worse.Watch the below piece, plus an interview with The Federalist’s John Daniel Davidson, here. The left doesn’t need orders from the top. Indeed, more often than not the left is governed from the bottom up.This isn’t easy for conservatives to understand. Most of us, by disposition, respect hierarchy. A father at the head of the family, a boss at the head of a company, a president at the head of a country, a pope at...

The referendum ascertains three sequential decisions: secession of territories from Ukraine; formation of an independent state; and its entry into the Russian Federation as a subject. The referendum on September 23-27 in the Donbass and southern Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine on their accession to Russian Federation is, prima facie, an exercise of the right of self-determination by the native population who reject the Western-backed regime change in Kiev in 2014 and the ascendancy of extreme nationalist forces with neo-Nazi leanings in the power structure. But it has other dimensions, too. In all probability, the referendum will overwhelmingly opt...

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov emphasized on Friday at a conference that it is not in Moscow's interest to have an open conflict with the United States or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).Ryabkov expressed concerns over Russia's current relations with the two, stating that they are "near-zero levels." He shared that "America is incapable of negotiating in principle and, together with a number of NATO capitals, is directly pushing Kiev to transfer military operations to our territory, intending to fight to the last Ukrainian" so as to impose "a strategic defeat" on Russia. He further underscored that Moscow is...

How the Situation in Ukraine Could Get Far More DangerousAfter days of a withering Ukrainian counteroffensive, the Russian defense ministry announced that it was withdrawing its forces from two areas in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region. In a video statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky quipped, “The Russian army in these days is demonstrating the best that it can do — showing its back.” Ukrainians celebrated, and rightly so. While Russian spokesmen said that Russian forces were “repositioning” ahead of a new offensive, reporters on the ground cast doubt on such pronouncements both because they mirror Russian statements as it abandoned its drive...

t does not go unnoticed that the raid on the Trump family home at Mar-a-Lago comes just a few months before the mid-term elections. A vast majority of Republican candidates running for office have been endorsed by former President Trump. Trump has been campaigning and endorsing candidates across the country, and in the primaries those endorsed by him won their place on the ballot, far outnumbered those who did not. These and other instances leading up to the mid-terms have Democrats worried. Casting shade on the former president could certainly have an effect on those candidates in their races at...

In an ominous open letter published on wonky national security site War on the Rocks Tuesday, eight former secretaries of defense and five former chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff warned of what they call an "exceptionally challenging civil-military environment" developing in the United States that apparently concerned them enough to publish their thoughts ahead of November's consequential midterm elections. Never mind, apparently, that the signatories were at the helm of the U.S. military for the better part of the last two decades during which that "environment" was degraded. Citing "extreme strain" to "[m]any of the factors that shape...

I had a column on Monday analyzing Judge Aileen Cannon’s order, earlier in the day, granting former president Trump’s petition for a special master to review materials the government seized from Mar-a-Lago last month pursuant to a search warrant. That analysis focuses on what I believe is the main issue raised by Judge Cannon’s decision: the possibility that Trump, as a former president, retains not only some measure of executive privilege but also the authority to invoke that privilege against the executive branch of the incumbent administration. In this post, I want to focus on a couple of other aspects...

When the citizens of the United States are counted every 10 years, those numbers are used for the next decade to determine each state’s federal monetary allowances, and also the number of electors needed in elections to represent the citizens of those states. If any errors occur, those errors will affect these crucial matters for the next 10 years. Our last national census was conducted in 2020. The current 2020 Federally conducted U.S. census is predicted to have an unexpected impact on the upcoming midterms and next elections, due to errors that have been discovered. Following up on the original...

“Is it okay to have a conspiracy to get rid of Trump?” host Bill Maker asked guests Rob Reiner and Sen. Amy Klobuchar on his HBO show on Friday. This exchange got considerable online attention. Most of that attention focused on Reiner’s shockingly ignorant disavowal of the Hunter Biden laptop story. Overlooked were the knee-jerk comments by both Reiner and Klobuchar on the subject of January 6. Rather than answer Maher’s question about the suppression of the laptop story, Reiner reflexively retreated to the safe space of January 6. “You know what is not justified,” said Reiner. “Using armed violence...

Four days after the raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, The Washington Post ran interference for the Biden Administration’s politicized FBI and DOJ by disseminating a whopper in an obvious attempt to tamp down the outrage. Not that they probably care, but the four reporters bylined on the story were punked. And Americans were deceived. On August 12, the Post breathlessly reported that, even though it had never been done before, the tossing of Melania’s under-lovelies at Mar-a-Lago by 30 FBI agents must have been totally legit because according to “people familiar with the investigation,” “experts in classified information,”...

Boston Children’s Hospital is facing backlash over a video they created that appears to be promoting “gender affirming hysterectomies” for “transgender” children. The video, featuring Dr. Frances Grimstad, an obstetrician-gynecologist, went viral after being posted by the popular Libs of TikTok Twitter account.
