Russia’s TASS News Service released photos on Tuesday of a NATO Seafox mine disposal unmanned underwater drone was found during a scheduled visual inspection of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in November 2015.

Russia accused NATO of attempting to blow up the pipeline in 2015.

The incident made international headlines at the time.

Kimdotcom says Nordstream 1, but picture says Nordstream 2. Picture is of the combat version of the drone as it is is missing the inspection orange/yellow markings. Operating Depth is good for Nordstream 1 or Nordstream 2. Explosive charge is big enough to punch holes in the pipeline but not large enough to destroy it. Can be deployed by helicopters, no ship required. Also can be deployed by subs and surface ships, but subs doesn't make sense as this would be a hazard to the sub unless used with the inspection model.

I know this is a Russian Source, but it does show that there is background evidence that shows suspicious activity in the past, but these drones get lost all the time and we have no idea of how close to the pipeline this was actually found.

Very difficult to paint this as Russian propaganda, as some here would proffer.

Correct, however the Drone was not properly marked for a training exercise, which is unusual, but occasionally happens.

Overall, the Tass reports are accurate, and the NATO excuse cannot be disproved.

To a degree, I agree. We only “know” what all sources agree on. We “know” that someone blew up the pipeline and it’s not an easy task. The rest is speculation. That’s where Occam’s Razor can come in handy.

1.4kg of tnt is used for anti-tank mines, a shaped high explosive charge can absolutely punch a whole in a pipeline.
