http://www.governmentchildtheft.com/News/Gilman.html ********************************************************** They're doing this for the children. Yeah, right! I'm just glad mine are too old to be snatched. I was in the hellish foster care system and I still bear the scars from years of physical, psychological and emotional abuse. I always said, if those bastards wanted me go to jail, I'd give them a real reason.

A group that claims to be promoting Southern culture took credit this week for pictures of an eye posted around Chantilly in July. The League of the South said in a news release that it had put up 250 pictures of an eye shedding a tear to remind residents of the pain Southerners suffer from those who disparage Southern culture. The eye is that of a Caucasian person. "As Southerners, we are forced to endure ridicule and scorn on a daily basis. Our people are verbally attacked in all aspects of American life," wrote R. Jason Koehne, chairman of the ...

Just one Chandra report. Dan Rather has emerged as the leading candidate to land a blockbuster interview with Rep. Gary Condit - which could explain the CBS anchor's near-total silence on the Chandra Levy case, sources told The Post yesterday. Rather has moved to the front of the pack as a slew of networks and cable stations have been in competitive negotiations with officials from Condit's office for the summer's "must get" exclusive with the embattled California Democrat. Rather could have an in with Condit because he has mentioned the Chandra story only once on the air - last month, ...

The King County Juvenile Court sent employees a guide to performance evaluations this week that equated Mother Teresa with average performance and depicted "unsatisfactory" with a picture of President Bush scratching his head next to an image of a chimpanzee in a similar pose. Some employees who received the document called it disrespectful and anti-Catholic. The page, titled, "Performance Now, Quick Visual Reference Guide," was a loose insert in a larger package of materials. Above Mother Teresa ("Meets Job Requirements") were pictures of state Supreme Court Justice Bobbe Bridge, who reorganized the juvenile-court system while she was its chief judge, ...

UPDATE: Sunday 29th July 2001 As this site has appeared on www.slashdot.org and is experiencing slightly increased traffic I would like to add a few extra comments... 1. Guinness was used as it is an internationally recognised beer. I would have used a good, well known American beer but that is like finding the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. 2. I do not recommend using this technology for cooling overclocked AMD processors. Saying this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I work for another processor maker who I probably shouldn't mention but who ...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) has said that Israel had ``some justification'' when it deliberately killed Palestinians thought to be planning bombings. In remarks that contradict State Department policy on the attacks, Cheney told Fox News on Thursday. ``If you've got an organization that has plotted or is plotting some kind of suicide bomber attack, for example, and they (the Israelis) have hard evidence of who it is and where they're located, I think there's some justification in their trying to protect themselves by preempting.'' State Department spokesman Richard Boucher repeated on Thursday ...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Democratic-controlled Senate caved into a White House veto threat and approved a House-passed package of special farm assistance Friday that provides $2 billion less than Democrats wanted. The $5.5 billion measure now goes to President Bush for his expected signature. The Senate abruptly approved the legislation on a voice vote after Republicans blocked action on a $7.5 billion measure that had been approved by the Senate Agriculture Committee. ''The gun was held to our heads and the White House refused to compromise,'' said the committee chairman, Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa. He said the House measure was ...

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- It looks like the National Organization for Women (NOW) has let its whole staff out on summer vacation. That, or they're hypocrites. Those are the only two possible explanations for their deafening silence in the case of Rep. Gary Condit (D-Calif.). Condit, a married congressman, slept with a young intern and misled police after she disappeared without a trace. You'd expect the feminist groups to be the first to take up arms. But then you'd be overlooking the fact that Condit is a Democratic congressman. A search for "Condit" on the NOW web site (www.now.org) came up ...

HONG KONG, Aug 3 (AFP) - The decision by Hong Kong City University to allow US scholar Li Shaomin to retain his job, despite a spying conviction on the mainland, was correct and upheld the "one country, two systems" concept, academics said Friday. Political analyst at City University Joseph Cheng hailed the decision Friday of the five-member university executive committee to allow Li to see out the remaining one year of his contract as "a correct decision" and "logical" one. The committee announced after a 90-minute meeting that there would be no disciplinary hearing for Li, who was away from ...

State social-service bureaucrats accuse a small, rural religious school of child abuse, citing its disciplinary emphasis on manual labor and corporal punishment. In most cases, an overmatched, underfunded school would have to cave in. But Heartland Christian Academy is hardly typical. The school is bankrolled by an insurance multimillionaire who hasn't forgotten his rural roots, and "Pastor Charlie," as he's known, points to a record of success in helping steer some of the toughest wayward kids onto the straight and narrow. And he vows to use his vast resources to fight a battle other similar schools won't—or can't. in ...

Joe Skeen (R-N.M.) and the British magazine "Jane's Defence Weekly." And Skeen is hinting New Mexico - as well as Holloman Air Force Base - could be in their flight path. WASHINGTON (AP) - Rallying behind President Bush (news - web sites), House Republicans passed patients' rights legislation that scaled back lawsuits against HMOs that the Senate-passed version would allow. Potentially bruising House-Senate compromise talks were certain. The administration celebrated the slim House approval of a deal brokered between Bush and Rep. Charles Norwood (news - bio - voting record), R-Ga., who made the agreement without involvement of his original Democratic and moderate Republican allies. The vote ``brings us an important step closer to ensuring that patients get the care they need and that HMOs are held accountable,'' Bush said in ...

Fixing our weakest link PATRICK HENRY'S BOOK The Ironic Christian's Companion records a scene of wonderful irony. His mother-in-law, saying grace before a meal in which she meant to ask God to "make us ever mindful of the needs of others," asked God instead to "make us ever needful of the minds of others." The more I thought about it, the more I liked her prayer. Evangelicals in particular have not always acknowledged their needfulness of others' minds. I remember church deacons in 1963 distributing If America Elects a Catholic President, a scary booklet by a prominent evangelical author. Well, ...

Senate Republicans block passage of Democrat farm plan By PHILIP BRASHER The Associated Press 8/3/01 10:32 AM WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate struggled Friday over how much special assistance to give farmers this fall as Republicans blocked passage of a $7.5 billion package that the White House has threatened to veto. The impasse threatened to delay final approval of the measure until September, when Congress returns from a monthlong recess that starts this weekend. Democratic leaders mustered just 49 votes Friday morning, well short of the 60 necessary, to cut off debate on their legislation. Forty-eight senators opposed bringing the ...

Sen. Biden defends targeted killings By Janine Zacharia WASHINGTON (August 3) - Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Delaware), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, yesterday criticized the Bush administration for publicly condemning Israel's policy of targeted killings. He said Israel's attacks on Palestinian terrorists are not "assassinations" because Hamas is waging war on Israel. A State Department spokesman repeated opposition to the policy yesterday. Comparing the Israeli-American squabble to a family dispute, Biden said disagreements between brothers should not be carried out in front of the house for all to see, but in the backyard, out of public view. Biden ...
