The arrival of the B-52 Stratofortress over the Iranian battlespace on March 4, 2026, serves as a loud, eight-engine declaration of the current tactical reality. While the opening salvos of Operation Epic Fury relied on the “hidden” lethality of stealth, the sight of the non-stealth “BUFF” (Big Ugly Fat Fellow) suggests that the “door” to Iranian airspace hasn’t just been kicked in—it has been unhinged...

A Canadian journal has issued corrections on 138 case reports it published over the last 25 years to add a disclaimer: The cases described are fictional. Paediatrics & Child Health, the journal of the Canadian Paediatric Society, has published the cases since 2000 in articles for a series for its Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program. The articles usually start with a case description followed by “learning points” that include statistics, clinical observations and data from CPSP. The peer-reviewed articles don’t state anywhere the cases described are fictional. The corrections come following a January article in New Yorker magazine that mentioned one...

A paid representative for the designated terror organization and Islam-pushing Council on American-Islamic Relations has called for Texas, in its state education system, to teach that one-third of all slaves in America were Muslim, enslaved, and killed for their Muslim faith, erase the Mayflower Compact, eliminate Columbus Day, teach that the Alamo was influenced by Islam and honors Islamic architecture and more. Not happening, at least according to two members of the state Board of Education who challenged the accuracy of the claims, openly opposed a "jihadist agenda being forced on our children," and were skeptical about the benefits of...

US President Donald Trump claims he ‘forced Israel’s hand’ to launch an operation against Iran, countering a theory that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been manipulating him. The remarks contradict Secretary of State Marco Rubio's suggestion that Israel’s plan to attack Iran triggered Washington’s involvement in Operation Epic Fury. The US president says he prefers someone from within the Iran than former crown prince Reza Pahlavi to replace the slain supreme leader Ali Khamenei

Steve Toth, a hard-line conservative Texas state representative, defeated Representative Dan Crenshaw in a close-fought Republican primary on Tuesday that will sweep from the House a former Navy SEAL who has occasionally broken with fellow Republicans, according to The Associated Press. The race, in a strongly Republican district in the Houston area, was a referendum on the candidates’ fidelity to President Trump and his agenda, and whether a conservative with an independent streak like Mr. Crenshaw could still have a place in the party. Mr. Trump did not endorse either candidate, a notable blow to Mr. Crenshaw, who found himself...

Explanation: What’s looking back at you isn’t a cosmic eye, but Shapley 1, a beautifully symmetric planetary nebula. Shapley 1, also known as the Fine Ring Nebula or PLN 329+2.1, bejewels the southern sky constellation of the Carpenter's Square (Norma). The nebula is the result of a star near the mass of our Sun running out of fuel and shedding its outer layers. Glowing oxygen from those expelled layers makes up the circular halo. The bright central point is actually a binary: a white dwarf, the remaining stellar core after the outer layers are expelled into space, and another star,...

If you saw the 2004 Pixar hit The Incredibles, you might remember that Mr. Incredible, a.k.a. Bob, captures in one line the reason our schools are failing. Resisting his wife’s plea that Bob attend his son’s “graduation” from fourth grade, Bob growls, “We keep creating new ways to celebrate mediocrity!” Today’s remake of that film would have Bob growl, “We keep creating new ways to celebrate illiteracy!” because the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) is pressuring teachers and professors to drop the requirement that students learn to speak and write Standard American English. Unfortunately, the NCTE is having...
