Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a major attack on Iran launched by Israel and the United States, President Donald Trump said, calling it the “single greatest chance” for the Iranian people to “take back” their country.
The death occurred after a joint U.S. and Israeli aerial bombardment that targeted Iranian military and governmental sites. Trump said the “heavy and pinpoint bombing” was to continue through the week or longer. There was no immediate comment from Iran on Khamenei's status.

If it’s true, the world is better off, but I hope the Israelis were the ones responsible for the hit. Otherwise one of the items on the Democrats’ impeachment of Trump next year (if they retake the House) will be the murder of Ali Khamenei.

I am not one to usually take pleasure in killing, but yes - ending this fanatical coward’s worthless life may really be a chance for peace. Now, take the rest of the high value targets and as much of the IRGC as possible and maybe things will get better for the world.

Inasmuch as I'm really happy for the Iranian people that this thug is gone, what Trump is doing here is truly problematic. By its autocratic nature of taking out a head of State he is setting a troubling precedent and making himself more of a target. This is an undeclared act of war against another country.
I would much rather have seen him gain an AUMF in advance from Congress contingent upon whether Iran continued to enrich weapons grade fissile materials. He could have used that as a bargaining element.

They will impeach him anyway. They don’t need a reason. They will find that he tore the tag off a mattress or recorded a football game without the express written permission of the
