... Mr. Moran, 44, is the pasha of a new power tribe in the capital: the gay men of the Trump administration. These are the A-Gays. They’re (mostly) out, they’re proud (to work for President Trump) and they have big jobs inside (or alongside) this administration. They wield influence all over town, from the Pentagon to the State Department to the White House to the Kennedy Center. “We’re like Visa,” Mr. Moran said. “Everywhere you want to be.” He sipped a dirty vodka martini and surveyed the room. Two Republican men waved at him from across the club. “Both gay,”...

The first time I ate a raccoon was about 11 years ago. Some were raiding the chicken coop where we lived, so my roommate and I were charged with dispatching. We trapped one in a Hav-a-Hart, killed it, and being equal parts curious and broke, we cooked it. We braised the first raccoon with a bunch of chili peppers, aromatics, and stock. I was honestly conflicted about the whole ordeal. On the one hand, it smelled damn good as it was cooking. On the other hand, I had a mental block on raccoon as a food. I was brought up...

This will come as a shock to at least three of you. Yep, apparently a bunch of the "based and redpilled" crowd in D.C. are actually sodomites with sexual fetishes. More from The New York Times: The most powerful out gay man in the Trump administration is [Treasury Secretary Scott] Bessent. There are a handful of others in the Treasury Department. Other A-Gays include Tony Fabrizio, the president's longtime pollster; Trent Morse, a departing deputy assistant to the president; Richard Grenell, who was put in charge of the Kennedy Center; and Jacob Helberg, an under secretary of state. These are...

Lee Zeldin, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, has been an instrumental figure in dismantling the climate science regime during the second Trump administration, including major funding cuts in partnership with the Department of Government Efficiency. Now, nearly half of the states' attorneys general have called on Zeldin to strike at the head of another climate institution: the Environmental Law Institute. Headed by Attorney General Austin Knudsen of Montana and signed by 22 other state AGs, the letter calls on Zeldin to cut funding grants for the Environmental Law Institute, which operates the Climate Judiciary Project. The letter says...

Kate Merrill | Image by katemerrill1/Instagram ================================================================== A former long-time Boston television anchor is suing CBS and its parent company, Paramount Global, claiming that she was forced out of her job to make way for the media giant’s DEI quotas. Katherine Merrill Dunham, better known to viewers as Kate Merrill, claims network executives were worried that WBZ-TV was becoming “too white,” and chose to sideline her after more than two decades as an anchor at the station, according to court documents. The Emmy Award–winning broadcaster filed her legal complaint against CBS earlier this month, saying she was demoted, humiliated in...

As Israel begins its offensive in Gaza City, Hamas is preventing the city's civilian population from evacuating in order to "exploit" the Israeli military's efforts to avoid civilian casualties, according to a Tuesday report. "Hamas is preparing for the IDF's entry into Gaza City by threatening Gazans in the area and ordering its fighters to block exit routes," Israel's Channel 12 journalist Amit Segal reported, citing his colleague Nitzan Shapira. Shapira added that after an Israeli airstrike accidentally struck Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis and caused civilian casualties on Monday, Hamas "has further recognized that it can exploit the IDF's...

Parents and others wondering whether their local schools have biological males playing girls sports, take note: There’s a map for that. The American Parents Coalition has launched an interactive map on its website showing “instances across the country where boys have been allowed to participate in girls sports and have access to private spaces such as locker rooms, bathrooms, and showers.” The “Attack on Girls’ Sports and Spaces” map links to reports of athletes in high school and collegiate sports playing on female teams based on gender identity rather than sex. Alleigh Marre, the coalition’s president, said that the goal...

Good day, legends. I hope you're having a fantastic day and so far you are having a great week. Now, legends, of course, we have a lot to go over. Of course, a lot to add nuance to, to add perspective to everywhere from the front line to the fuel bowser in Russia. And we have, of course, a lot to go over. So, today we're going to start, we're going to talk about the AWOL crisis that is unfolding in Ukraine, but we're going to add some perspective to that, but also the difficulties that come with that. that...

The Trump administration is reinstating a long-dormant practice of conducting "neighborhood checks" to vet immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship, expanding its efforts to aggressively scrutinize immigration applications, according to a government memo obtained by CBS News. The neighborhood checks would involve on-the-ground investigations by officials at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that could include interviews with the neighbors and coworkers of citizenship applicants. The government investigations would be conducted to determine if applicants satisfy the requirements for American citizenship, which include showing good moral character, adhering to the U.S. Constitution and being "well-disposed to the good order and happiness of...

The campaign to expedite the confirmation process for President Donald Trump’s nominees by changing Senate rules gained momentum Tuesday after Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso endorsed the move. Barrasso, the second-ranking Senate Republican, in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, called for reforming the upper chamber’s rules to break Senate Democrats’ unprecedented logjam holding up the confirmation process for nearly all the president’s nominees. Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer has taken a victory lap in August for using an array of procedural roadblocks to drag out the confirmation process for Trump’s picks as long as possible. “President Trump has...

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted two separate shipments of bushmeat at Detroit Metropolitan Airport last month, including one haul of primate meat, in seizures officials say highlight the dangers of disease entering the United States. Bushmeat—defined by U.S. health agencies as meat from wild animals such as bats, monkeys, and cane rats—is illegal to import into the country. CBPOps and DFODetroit announced the discoveries Saturday in a joint post on Instagram, writing, “Scary!!! @DFODetroit CBP agriculture specialists intercepted back-to-back bushmeat at @DTWShots. Bushmeat poses serious risks to public health and violates federal regulations. CBP remains vigilant in protecting...

The FBI has signed settlement agreements with Garret O’Boyle, Steve Friend, and six other FBI whistleblowers that will provide them with back pay, lump-sum damage payments, restoration of their security clearances, and, in some of the cases, reinstatement to jobs with the bureau. O’Boyle and Friend were among eight remaining whistleblowers whose settlements were announced Tuesday by Empower Oversight, which represented the current and former FBI employees in their retaliation cases. Two other settlements were previously announced on Aug. 1 and in 2024 under the Biden administration. “Whistleblowers risk it all for the sake of simply telling the truth. These...

Daily Readings from the USCCBJesus said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of filth. Even so, on the outside you appear righteous, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.” Matthew 23:27–28This would not have been an easy thing for the scribes and Pharisees to hear. It is a hard truth, spoken by our Lord, partly in an attempt to shake them free of their sin. And even though they may not have enjoyed hearing...
