“‘Pray for those who persecute you’” (Matthew 5:44). Throughout the centuries the worst kinds of persecutions against Jesus’ followers have come from religious people. Persecution has been so strong against believers because they uphold God’s standards, which indict the sin and corruption of false religion. God’s Word unmasks hypocrisy in a most crucial area—humanity’s propensity for self-justification. Knowing that persecution would be the world’s response to the Father’s truth, Christ assures us that we will be persecuted, just as He was (John 15:20). Thus His command that we pray for our persecutors is one every faithful believer will have some...

I started my week off by writing about a horrific situation involving the Buffalo Public Schools in New York actively hiding abuse, including sexual abuse, from police. I spoke with the detective who unveiled these allegations by phone on Monday night. Detective Richard Hy, aka Angry Cops on YouTube, is a great guy who told me a lot about what happened. A lot of you read those stories and you were outraged, too. Any decent person would be. This is not the kind of thing anyone should be fine with. Only evil people would try to downplay what happened, right?...

From the killer barber of “Sweeny Todd,” to Stephen Sondheim’s “Assassins,” musicals have long dealt with morbid subject matter. Now a musical based on Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old man accused of gunning down the CEO of a healthcare company in cold blood, is on its way to San Francisco. “Luigi the Musical,” billed as “A story of love, murder and hash browns,” is due to open in June at the Taylor Street Theatre, formerly the Exit Theatre. The show is described as a “wildly irreverent, razor-sharp comedy that imagines the true story of Luigi Mangione, the alleged corporate assassin turned...

“U.S. citizens are not deported. The mother chose to take the children with her.” Democrats refuse to give up their future voters without a fight. As President Donald Trump pledged on the campaign trail, his administration has made the removal of illegal immigrants a top priority. In response, the Left has opposed him at every turn. This opposition has placed them in the difficult position of defending the indefensible — most recently, by fighting the deportation of an alleged MS-13 gang member and protesting the arrest of a Wisconsin judge accused of helping an illegal immigrant to evade ICE.

New internal polls by both major parties show U.S. Sen. John Cornyn is in big trouble as he faces the toughest GOP primary opponent of his political career in 2026. A Republican poll obtained exclusively by the Houston Chronicle show Cornyn is down against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton among likely GOP primary voters by 17 percentage points. A Democratic poll shows him down more than 20 percentage points. The numbers have some Republicans worried that Cornyn is in a race he can't win, and instead could force a primary fight that costs millions of dollars and ends up bruising...

@Mylovanov Trump: Putin wanted all of Ukraine. He saw weakness after Afghanistan and made his move. He never would’ve invaded if I were in office. Ukraine was always his goal, but because of me, he didn’t take the whole country. I believe he now wants to stop the war.

A Maine woman might be facing serious consequences after her viral Facebook posts encouraging violence against President Donald Trump and his supporters. JoAnna St. Germain, an English teacher at Waterville Senior High School, is gaining significant attention online after sharing a troubling message on Facebook. The posts were first discovered by the Maine Wire. St. Germain wrote the following in an April 29th post: "The Secret Service has the perfect opportunity, if they choose to step up and take it. You are the ones with power. Coordinate. Take out every single person who supports Trump’s illegal, immoral, unconstitutional acts. Look...

Hunter Biden abruptly dropped his lawsuit Wednesday against two Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers who alleged a wide-ranging cover-up in the Department of Justice to stonewall the tax fraud investigation into him. The Biden scion had slapped a lawsuit against the two whistleblowers in 2023, alleging that they “targeted and sought to embarrass Mr. Biden via public statements to the media in which they and their representatives disclosed confidential information about a private citizen’s tax matters.” Without detailing a specific reason why, the scandal-scarred 55-year-old voluntarily moved to dismiss his lawsuit against Gary Shapley, who was an IRS supervisory special agent...

She didn’t avoid the elephant in the room. Former Vice President Kamala Harris emerged from political hibernation to deliver a stern rebuke of President Trump — before bizarrely shifting focus to a lighthearted video of elephants at the San Diego Zoo during an earthquake. “A lot of folks are wondering what’s going to guide us through this moment. How are we all going to figure out how to chart the course,” Harris said during her Wednesday address at Emerge’s 20th anniversary gala in San Francisco. “Please allow me, friends, to digress for a moment.” “Okay, it’s kind of dark in...

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has stirred controversy within the Democratic Party after appearing with President Donald Trump at an event in her state on Tuesday and at the White House earlier this month. "Her going to the White House… on the heels of an election where she was heavily involved campaigning for the Democratic nominee [against Trump], I think, says a lot about her understanding about her role is to be the governor of all, not just her party," Democratic county executive in Macomb County Mark Hackel told The Washington Post about Whitmer's April 9 visit to the Oval Office....

“I built the program from the ground up,” said Hart. Under Hart’s leadership, the aquatics center grew to host a thousand visitors per week… … Hart told 7News the trouble started last year when she arranged for five employees to get swim coach training in Florida. She needed everyone’s full legal name to book the plane tickets. Once they were booked, another employee shared the flight itinerary in a group chat. Hart said one of the staff complained because the plane tickets that were shared in the group had the person’s legal name, which did not match their gender identity....

Underwater excavations near Kaş, Antalya, on Turkey's southwestern coast, have yielded fascinating insights into ancient Mediterranean seafaring and trade. Even as the universal Church grieves the death of Pope Francis and prepares for the conclave to elect his successor, Chinese authorities are moving forward with episcopal appointments, signaling their determination to operate independently of Rome. In the Diocese of Shanghai, Father Wu Jianlin was confirmed April 28 as auxiliary bishop, AsiaNews reported. The next day, officials in the Diocese of Xinxiang chose Father Li Janlin for the same role. Both selections were made through a state-managed process involving only a single candidate — an approach Beijing continues to use despite its 2018 agreement with the Vatican on episcopal appointments.The...
