Today the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice prevailed in its second monopolization case against Google. In United States et al. v. Google, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia held that Google violated antitrust law by monopolizing open-web digital advertising markets. According to the Court, Google “harmed Google’s publishing customers, the competitive process, and, ultimately, consumers of information on the open web.” “This is a landmark victory in the ongoing fight to stop Google from monopolizing the digital public square,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “This Department of Justice will continue taking bold legal action...

Peter, an individual, betrayed Jesus, by denying knowing him three times, and thereby betrayed the group of individuals to which he belonged. His own conscience troubled Peter very deeply. Waltzing Matilda, often called Australia’s unofficial national anthem, is also about betrayal. But it is the betrayal of the human rights of an individual denied his basic right to food by an unjust society. The swaggy is driven to suicide, whereas Peter recovers to become the rock upon which the Christian church was built. For me the fusion of these two different types of betrayal is very beautiful. Perhaps a strange...

The "Super Schunkler" is a type of amusement park ride, featuring suspended carriages that spin in two separate directions, creating a combination of centrifugal force and swaying motion. The ride's name "Schunkler" translates to "swayer" or "shaker" in English, which accurately reflects the ride's movement. (The real action begins near the one-minute mark.) Police gang experts pegged Kilmar Abrego Garcia as a member of MS-13 based on his clothing, tattoos and information from a confidential source, the Prince George’s County Police Department said Thursday, shedding some light on a key issue in the fight over his deportation. The department said Mr. Abrego Garcia was flagged by Hyattsville City Police, who found him as part of a group of four men, one of whom the officers recognized as an MS-13 member. The county police gang unit then interviewed the four and found “reasonable suspicion” that three, including Mr. Abrego Garcia, “displayed traits associated with...

Many deplorables, being the competent people we are, have had the misfortune of being tasked with cleaning up a mess created by an incompetent coworker. The cleanup might involve unravelling the hairball of causation in an industrial accident investigation, or weighing the accusations and counteraccusations of a harassment allegation, or a million other potential crises du jour. But whatever the specific nature of the chaos, deplorables know that caution and patience are required. Because as soon as they reveal their findings, the second-guessers rush in to carefully examine the efficacy and appropriateness of their methods and remedial actions. And suddenly...

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly offered the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) nearly $1 billion to keep a case out of court that could break up his social media empire. Zuckerberg sat for a third day of testimony on Wednesday in an antitrust case brought against his company by the FTC, which is attempting to force Meta to sell off Instagram and WhatsApp over what the government has said are Meta’s anticompetitive business practices. Zuckerberg called the head of the FTC, Chairman Andrew Ferguson, in March to try to settle the case out of court. Zuckerberg initially offered the...

An attorney from the nonprofit that pushed to relocate a historic Jesus painting at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, New York, called the midshipmen who recently cheered its restoration "cowards" and "Christian nationalist insects." Mikey Weinstein, founder and president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, accused the young midshipmen of violating their constitutional oath for applauding Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy’s call to bring the painting up from the basement where it was moved during the Biden administration. Weinstein’s accusations come as a midshipman associated with an on-campus Christian fellowship group explained to The Christian Post...

"Remember the Sabbath day." One of my church members made this comment She said "I think you make too much of it (Laughter) it It's like a man caught by his wife and he's committing adultery." So here's a man He's caught committing adultery and his wife says to him "You're breaking the seventh commandment." And he says "I think you make too much of it." He says that because he's guilty before God. It is a guilty world my friend that has forgotten the words of God that says.... you make too much of it...... But God placed it...

The Supreme Court has agreed to examine the Trump administration’s challenge to judges issuing nationwide injunctions, setting a date for a case that could have a major impact on the president’s ability to carry out his agenda as well as on the entire country. This comes after three federal judges issued separate nationwide injunctions blocking an executive order by President Donald Trump ending birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants. On Thursday, the court consolidated the three cases into one and set oral arguments to examine the fundamental question of whether district judges can issue rulings that affect the...

God 'was the one protecting him and taking care of him.' An American pastor who was kidnapped by armed men while preaching a sermon in South Africa last week was rescued days later as part of a remarkable mission, according to law enforcement. As Blaze News previously reported, Josh Sullivan was preaching during a Thursday evening service at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Motherwell — a township outside Gqeberha in South Africa's Eastern Cape province. Suddenly four armed men abducted Sullivan, who is from Tennessee, in front of his wife and six children. The Hawks — a specialized police unit...

This will not be a full series review, just a note to say I finished season one and it was fantastic. GREAT characters, including Samuel played by the great actor Stephen Lang ("Pickett" in "Gettysburg") and Oded Fehr (one of the protectors of the tomb in "The Mummy"). Michael Iskander is fantastic as David, who, almost alone among his family is willing to take the prophet's word. Ali Sulieman plays a deteriorating king, looking more and more like Biden with every episode. True to the Bible. I give it an A.

On Wednesday evening, President Donald Trump circumvented an effort by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to block one of his nominees for a key federal prosecutor role in New York. Trump announced on Truth Social that he was appointing Jay Clayton to become interim U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, sidestepping the Senate confirmation process that Schumer sought to jam, at least for now. “I am pleased to announce that Jay Clayton will serve as the Interim United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. During my First Term, Jay served with great distinction...

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the Trump DOJ’s effort to block Judge Xinis’ order requiring the US government to “facilitate” the return of alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia. A three-judge panel: Harvie Wilkinson (Reagan), Robert King (Clinton), and Stephanie Thacker (Obama) issued the order. Judge Wilkinson, the Reagan appointee, repeatedly referred to Abrego Garcia as a “resident” even though he’s an illegal alien. Kilmar Abrego Garcia is an El Salvadorian national who was illegally residing in Maryland. In 2019, an immigration judge ordered Abrego Garcia, an alleged member of the dangerous MS-13 gang, removed from the...

He talked about, you know, he's going to deport people. And this whole thing with Mr. Abrego Garcia, it's that old wisdom and terrifying is if you're not speaking up for this man, there will be no one left to speak up for you.

The governor's race in Virginia to replace term-limited Glenn Youngkin is on, and the two nominees are already swinging heavy timber at each other. The Republican candidate is none other than Virginia's electrifying, battle-tested, and uber-competent Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears. ***To be honest, there was a bit of a bumpy spot in the relationship between VA Trump supporters and Sears because of her feelings a few years ago, but those all seem to have been smoothed over. ......She said her opinion changed after hearing his speech at the Republican National Convention last summer. “I wanted to hear that he has...
