NEW: The NC National Guard allegedly loaded an entire C17 with supplies just so Kamala Harris could stage a photo-op for Hurricane Helene without the intention of the supplies being used. The accusation came from Aerial Recovery members Jonathan Howard and Charlie Keebaugh on @ShawnRyan762 's show. "I had a squadron commander from North Carolina reach out to me... They had to a C17, full of supplies just to take a photo op for Kamala… and they never sent the bird." "They did a photo op and with the intention of never sending [aid]... it was just a photo op."...

Republican lawmakers on Monday ratcheted up the investigation into billionaire George Soros’ purchase of a wide swath of U.S. radio stations. Soros is a major donor to Democratic and liberal causes whose purchase of American radio stations just before the election raised eyebrows and drew Congressional inquiry. The deal began when the large radio company Audacy filed for bankruptcy. Via a complicated business deal, Soros gained control of the stations. Notably, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers said in a release Monday that the deal would include "25% of the company being indirectly foreign owned,” something that...

Daily Readings from the USCCB“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Luke 11:23These words are embedded within several powerful teachings of Jesus, but, in many ways, this single sentence can stand alone as an important Christian truth. Specifically, it tells us that we cannot be neutral in our position regarding Jesus and all that He has taught us. This is an important message in the world today. Today, there seems to be a growing secular value that we might call “neutrality.” We are told by many in the world that we...

With less than a month to Election Day, former President Donald Trump on Thursday announced a new tax break proposal. Speaking at the Detroit Economic Club, the Republican presidential nominee said he would make the interest paid on car loans tax deductible. “That’s going to revolutionize your industry,” he said. “This will stimulate massive domestic auto production and make car ownership dramatically more affordable for millions and millions of working American families. This is a phenomenal thing, if I do say so myself." Detroit is home to automakers General Motors, Ford Motor Co. and Netherlands-based Stellantis N.V., owner of Chrysler....

Once again, this week has been dominated by what is happening and what could happen in the Middle East (ME). Earlier this week I felt that I had to provide a brief article on the ME which is available only to subscribers and those on my Telegram Channel. It is too important to ignore. I have been following the situation closely and it appears that the Israelis are not doing well. Let me qualify that statement: the Israelis are doing wonderfully well at killing defenceless innocents in Gaza and Lebanon but are doing less well in confronting armed and dangerous...

A pink-haired DEI trainer has slammed Oregon's forestry department for hiring on the basic of merit rather than identity. Megan Donecker filed a complaint about her former boss Mike Shaw and moaned about him telling her that he sought the 'candidates most qualified for the job.' DEI advocates like Donecker say hiring should be done through an 'intersectional lens' whereby applications from marginalized people are given greater weight. Shaw, who earns $192,000-a-year as deputy head of Oregon's Department of Forestry, has been put on leave over Donecker's complaint. Donecker, who worked as the department's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion chief claimed...

Producing a new fighter jet is difficult, time-consuming, and always ends up costing too much. Don't even get me started on Lockheed-Martin's troubled F-35 Lightning II, which just resumed production after a year-long pause. The Lightning's development problems are legendary, but after many delays and too much money, "Fat Amy" (as pilots call it) works. Lockheed has built more than 1,000 F-35s already, and customers are happy with it — including export buyers who weren't in on the fighter's lengthy development and weren't originally contracted to buy any. Nation-states with serious air defense needs seem to love Fat Amy. Russia,...

Ta-Nehisi Coates’s fundamental problem is that he is a narcissist. Other people interest him only insofar as they reflect his own thoughts and feelings. That is what makes him such a bad reporter, a shortcoming he freely admits to. “Part of me would have done anything to go home,” he writes in his new book The Message, about his 10-day trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories in the summer of 2023. “The part that always grouses about the rigors of reporting, the awkwardness of asking strangers intimate questions, the discipline of listening intently.” Readers, if listening to other people...

Not only is rock music dead, it’s been dead for quite a while. Like the jazz, blues, and classical genres, it rests now in an afterlife of soundtracks and in the tombs of dark clubs and gilded concert halls, where the remnant priesthood still perform the ancient rituals. But it has no thriving existence. Rock is a form of music distinct from, but closely related to, the earlier doo-wop, rockabilly, and rock ‘n roll. It draws inspiration from the same genres of jazz, blues, gospel, country, and the folk music of the British Isles transplanted to the American backwoods. It...

The index slipped to 68.9 in October from 70.1 in September, which had been its highest reading since May. "Consumers continue to express frustration over high prices,” said Joanne Hsu, director of consumer surveys at University of Michigan. ... The survey bottomed out in June 2022, when inflation peaked at 9.1%, and has since risen by about 40%, though it remains significantly below pre-pandemic levels. In October, Republicans reported a much clearer drop in sentiment than Democrats.

They are locally feared for their terrifying attacks on unsuspecting passers-by. But the situation in Elgin, Moray, has become so bad that residents are being asked to report if dive-bombing seagulls are affecting their mental health. Elgin Community Council intends to use the results to make a case to Holyrood for improved control measures, after disputing a NatureScot report that seagull populations are declining. Pest controllers say the town is faced with ‘epidemic’ numbers during the breeding season. Rob Teasdale, of Specialist Vermin Control, said: ‘They are like the Luftwaffe the way they come off the roof and everyone dives...

[SNIP] Kamala the Quack: Jailing Parents of Black Sickle Cell Anemia PatientsSee also: Arrested by Kamala: A Black Mother's Story, by Joel GilbertSickle cell anemia may have actually been a survival response in Africa because the parasite that causes this disease has trouble with misshapen red blood cells. It’s otherwise a very mixed blessing because it conveys no benefits at all where malaria is not present, but it does cause enormous suffering. Donated blood plays an important role in its control and treatment.Kamala Harris did not actually say that jail cures this disease, but she seems to think it is...

It’s to the point in our society that people are perfectly justified being skeptical of pretty much anything they see or hear from politicians and the fake journalists in the establishment propaganda media. Is a certain political figure actually helping people or are they staging photo ops to optically help themselves? This is what we’re asking today as a video that’s going viral on the X social media platform of a hurricane rescuer, who has claimed in the past that he’s part of the Florida State Guard Special Missions Unit, saying that Vice President Kamala Harris staged a photo op using...

During an appearance on Friday’s broadcast of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), the Democrat vice-presidential nominee, was asked about the squeeze being put on the middle class amid a time of high inflation. According to Walz, price gouging was a significant factor in higher prices. He also cited “false information” at the grocery store for the higher costs. “When we talk to them about what are the policies that are going to make a difference, and we see some of the data, but data doesn’t impact people in their daily lives going to the grocery stores,” he...

Day #32 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've been posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the course of several months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so this will probably be done in early November. I've picked up the pace a bit this week. And to show my gratitude to the FR management...

Many history buffs can explain how “The Star-Spangled Banner” was penned by Francis Scott Key after he witnessed the failed British bombardment of Baltimore’s Fort McHenry in 1814, and some may also know that the song became the U.S. national anthem in 1931. Lesser known are the details of the 117-year journey that shepherded its transformation from inspired poem to officially sanctioned emblem of American patriotism. Originally printed under the title “Defence of Fort M’Henry” and set to the then-popular melody of “The Anacreontic Song,” “The Star-Spangled Banner,” as it later became known, quickly struck a chord among the citizens...

Vice President Kamala Harris debuted a Spanish accent on Thursday during a Univision town hall event, taking a break from the fake southern accent she sometimes uses. The accents raise concerns about Harris’s sincerity. Voters are often attuned to inauthentic politicians. “First of all, thank you for the question, and I hope your family is okay and your home is okay,” putting a Spanish drawl on the words “okay.” Critics on X immediately ripped Harris for the new accent, including Andy Ngo, Greg Price, and the MAGA War Room: It is not the first time Harris used a fake accent...
