White House National Security Council communications adviser John Kirby said that addressing veterans’ concerns about the botched Afghanistan withdrawal was of “no use” in a reply-all faux pas. The blunder occurred on Wednesday, the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, when Fox News sought comments from the White House regarding criticism related to Afghanistan. Instead of responding solely to the White House aides who had forwarded him the email, Kirby mistakenly included everyone on the email chain, including the Fox News reporter. “Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe,” Kirby...

The man whose teen son is accused of killing four people at a Georgia high school asked a judge on Wednesday for protection from fellow inmates due to the “incalculable number of threats” he faces behind bars. Colin Gray is being held without bail after he was arrested and booked on suspicion of second-degree murder and manslaughter, for allegedly allowing his son, Colt Gray, access to the weapon used in last week's bloodshed at Apalachee High School. Gray needs to be separated from other inmates being held by the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, his lawyers Jimmy Berry and Brian Hobbs...

During Tuesday night’s debate, ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis interrupted Donald Trump five times to “fact-check” his answers. They did the same to Kamala Harris … never. The vice president was allowed to skate through the debate without substantive follow-up questions or pushback on some of her obviously false claims. So since ABC didn’t do its job, here are some of the fact checks they should have made:

Ask any budget expert in Washington to explain the ballooning deficit and debt, and Social Security and Medicare will be high on the list of causes. That’s wrong. The real driver, the elephant in the room, is means-tested social-welfare spending—Medicaid, food stamps, refundable tax credits, Supplemental Security Income, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, federal housing subsidies and almost 100 other programs whose eligibility is limited to those below an income threshold. True, Social Security and Medicare are a drain on general revenue and will become big fiscal problems if not reformed. But they aren’t the major source of our current...

In a significant diplomatic move, Israel has proposed offering safe passage to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in exchange for the release of all hostages held by Hamas. This development, announced on September 11, 2024, by Israeli hostage negotiator Gal Hirsch, marks an unprecedented effort to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The proposal comes as Israel faces increasing domestic and international pressure to secure the safe return of its citizens taken hostage during the war. Hirsch, who is leading the negotiations on behalf of the Israeli government, stated that Israel is ready to provide safe passage not only for Sinwar...

MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- A preliminary 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck the Malibu area, rattling Southern California Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Lying several times at the recent Trump/Harris debate is being discussed across the nation. One thing is clear, even those who are liberals or democrats are quite insulted with Harris. If she had crafted some new and hard to fact check lie, we could at least give her credit for trying. But rather, Harris chose lies that have been fact checked repeatedly and thoroughly. It is an insult to Trump, to honesty and to all Americans. She was not heralded as the paragon of virtue before the run for the White House, but now, she has revealed the true Kamala...

The numbers: U.S. wholesale prices showed a mild increase in August and reinforced the idea the rate of inflation is returning to low prepandemic levels. The moderate increase in wholesale costs follows a similarly mild rise in consumer prices last month. With inflation slowing, the Federal Reserve is widely expected to cut interest rates next week. The producer-price index rose 0.2% last month, the government said Thursday. That matched the forecast of economists polled by the Wall Street Journal. The increase in wholesale prices in the past year slowed to 1.7% from 2.1% in the prior month and touched the...

Senate Republicans are feeling frustrated and disappointed by former President Trump’s debate performance and his inability to resist taking the bait from Vice President Harris on side issues such as people leaving his rallies early. GOP lawmakers fear Trump’s irate rants onstage will be the main takeaway for many undecided voters who tuned into the 90-minute debate, and some senators are hesitating over whether Trump should even agree to another one. GOP senators are also distancing themselves from Trump’s false claim that he won the 2020 election, which he repeated Tuesday evening. And they feel bewildered by his wild claim...

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” host Wolf Blitzer claimed it was “outlandish” for 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump to claim 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris supports taxpayer funding for gender transition surgeries for illegal immigrants and those in prison, a stance that CNN itself reported that Harris took when she was running for president the last time and that her campaign refused to tell CNN if she still supports. While speaking to Harris-Walz Co-Chair Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-CA), Blitzer said, “I want to play for you, Sen., some of Trump’s more outlandish...

He'll leave the service with full benefits and honors, despite the fact that @realdonaldtrump was nearly killed under his watch. Top sources inside the @SecretService tell Fox that agency brass encouraged him to step aside. The agency should publicly fire Plati and walk him out the door in disgrace, but instead, they tried to bury the story on debate night and are practically throwing the guy a party on his way out.

The cost of rent and utilities in 2023 rose faster than home values for the first time in a decade, the latest sign that a distorted housing market has pushed more people into renting. That’s one takeaway from the 2023 American Community Survey, released Thursday by the Census Bureau. From 2011 to 2019, real rent costs rose less than 3 percent every year, the data show. In 2022, after peaking during the coronavirus pandemic, rent grew 1 percent. But last year, rent rose 3.8 percent, compared with a 1.8 percent rise in inflation-adjusted median home values. The data comes as...

President Biden posed with a crowd of children decked out in pro-Donald Trump attire in an awkward photo op at a Pennsylvania firehouse on Wednesday. The 81-year-old president looked uncomfortable as he stood in the middle of about 16 youngsters — many sporting shirts in support of Trump — during a visit to a Shanksville firehouse to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The photo, shared on X by conservative influencer Benny Johnson, shows several of the kids wearing shirts with Trump’s face plastered on the front, including one with the former commander-in-chief in Terminator sunglasses...

He was having a senior moment. President Biden joked that he could not remember his name moments before he donned a red Donald Trump hat during a 9/11 commemoration event Wednesday. Biden, 81, made the crack at his own expense when he agreed to sign a presidential seal hat for a Trump supporter at an event honoring first responders in Shanksville, Pa., video footage shared on TikTok showed. @kelseysimmers94 When your pap gets biden to wear a trump hat 🤣🤣🤣 #maga ♬ original sound – Kelsey Simmers “Do you remember your name?” the Trump fan — an older man in...

THE REBEL FINANCES.ANOTHER LETTER FROM SECRETATY TRENHOLM.The Augusta papers publish the following letter from Secretary TRENHOLM:TREASURY DEPARTMENT, C.S.A., RICHMOND. Aug. 15, 1864. SIR: I am greatly obliged by your letter of the 8th inst., which is conceived in the true spirit of a patriot. If the people stand by the Government and encourage Congress to do their duty manfully, there is not the slightest danger about the public debt. Our people are committing an act of great folly to be buying property of all kinds at ten times what it will bring when the war is over, while foreigners are...

I didn't know how to post without having a link so I apologize. I have to be honest, for most of my life (in sales), the harder I worked, generally the more money I made....more on that later. We are savers---putting in 401K, stocks, mutual funds, some precious metals, have property. We had no debt (except our mortgage----2.3% and under $100K). Recently we had a few things---our son's wedding, property taxes (up another $800 this year) car tires needing to be replaced, air conditioner crapped out, cost of food, gas, utilities, etc. We ALWAYS pay off any debt immediately but...

The lawsuit of a former Colorado high school assistant principal is moving forward after he alleged he was discriminated against for his "religious comments" about a school production of The Laramie Project. Corey McNellis filed the lawsuit in 2022 over his firing two years prior, which he claimed occurred after an email exchange between himself and other faculty at the school in Douglas County in which he attempted to offer "a Christian perspective" on the theater department's staging of the play. McNellis said in the emails that he disagreed with the production as a Christian, according to Reuters, which he...

Beloved; America, which was founded during the Philadelphia Church Age (from about 1700 to about 1900 – the church of the “open door” – Rev 3:7-13), was established on the bedrock of natural and moral laws and foremost acknowledged the RIGHTEOUS Person of Almighty God at its founding. Beloved, just read the Declaration of Independence, our nation's precious birth certificate, and see for yourself how Almighty God was included! Oh, how the haters love to slander our founding and twist the truth of its inception! In the fullness of time, at the end of world history, some 4000 years after...
