Stars from the Large Magellanic Cloud reveal new hints about how the universe got its elements ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first generation of stars transformed the universe. Inside their cores, simple hydrogen and helium fused into a rainbow of elements. When these stars died, they exploded and sent these new elements across the universe. The iron running in your veins and the calcium in your teeth and the sodium powering your thoughts were all born in the heart of a long-dead star. No one has been able to find one of those first generation of stars, but scientists have announced a unique...

Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer tells Bloomberg TV that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the right decision in canceling a trip to Washington where Dermer was to discuss alternate options for dealing with Hamas in Rafah. Netanyahu nixed the trip last night after the US declined to use its veto on a ceasefire resolution in the UN Security Council, thus allowing it to pass. Dermer says he has not spoken to US officials since the resolution passed, but he was in touch with the Biden administration on Sunday night to warn against the move. Shema Unity at The Kotel Keep...

Fury at McDaniel's hiring reportedly began behind closed doors, with top contributors taking offense to not being asked their opinions beforehand. On Sunday, two days after McDaniel's new role was announced, this spilled over into Todd's hosting of his show Meet the Press as he launched into a scathing takedown of his bosses. Todd told his successor Kristen Welker that NBC executives had put her in an 'impossible situation' by having her interview McDaniel on her first appearance. 'Let me deal with the elephant in the room,' Todd said. 'I think our bosses owe you an apology for putting you...

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Ukraine has sunk or disabled a third of all Russian warships in the Black Sea in just over two years of war, the navy spokesman said Tuesday, a heavy blow to Moscow’s military capability. Ukraine’s Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk told The Associated Press that the latest strike on Saturday night hit the Russian amphibious landing ship Kostiantyn Olshansky that was resting in dock in Sevastopol in Russia-occupied Crimea. The ship was part of the Ukrainian navy before Russia captured it while annexing the Black Sea peninsula in 2014. Pletenchuk has previously announced that two other landing...

John 13:21-33, John 13:36-38Friends, today’s Gospel is from John’s account of the Last Supper, where Jesus acknowledges Judas as his betrayer and tells him to get on with it.God’s desires have been, from the beginning, opposed.Consistently, human beings have preferred the isolation of sin to the festivity of the sacred meal. Theologians have called this anomalous tendency the mysterium iniquitatis (the mystery of iniquity), for there is no rational ground for it, no reason for it to exist. But there it stubbornly is, always shadowing the good, parasitic upon that which it tries to destroy. Therefore, we should not be too...

Explanation: Comet Pons-Brooks has quite a tail to tell. First discovered in 1385, this erupting dirty snowball loops back into our inner Solar System every 71 years and, this time, is starting to put on a show for deep camera exposures. In the featured picture, the light blue stream is the ion tail which consists of charged molecules pushed away from the comet's nucleus by the solar wind. The ion tail, shaped by the Sun's wind and the comet's core's rotation, always points away from the Sun. Comet 12P/Pons–Brooks is now visible with binoculars in the early evening sky toward...

President Joe Biden said the government would pay the “entire cost” of rebuilding the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, after a cargo ship hit the bridge after losing power early Tuesday morning. “It’s my intention that we will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge. I expect the Congress to support my effort,” Biden said in a White House press conference. “It’s gonna take some time. And the people of Baltimore can count on us, though, to stick with that every step of the way until the port is reopened and the bridge is rebuilt. We’re...

For the past month, the internet has been abuzz with absurd rumours surrounding Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales. So much so that the mainstream media is now involved and publishing story after story to heighten the conspiracy. But while you’ve been distracted by the ‘Where’s Kate Middleton Conspiracy’, you will have probably missed the fact that Deagel’s apocalyptic 2025 depopulation forecast for the Western world has been confirmed by heavily censored Pfizer documents. A controversial forecast by Deagel, a global intelligence and consulting firm controlled by the CIA & Rockefeller Foundation, gained attention in 2020 for its startling prediction...

NBC News’s recent hiring of Ronna McDaniel, the former chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, has baffled Democrats, journalists, and pretty much all of MSNBC’s star anchors. But to those who remain deep in the thrall of MAGA—and those, like me, who escaped it—it was utterly unsurprising that a mainstream (i.e., “fake”) news organization would shell out $300,000 a year for McDaniel’s point of view. I became a MAGA activist in 2015, shortly after Donald Trump famously descended that golden escalator. For the next half-decade, I not only vociferously supported Trump and those who pledged fealty to him, like Ron...

In the morning after a tragic cargo ship accident and bridge collapse in Baltimore, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg called an emergency press conference to announce he is taking three more months of maternity leave. "It has come to my attention that the twin babies I purchased at the baby store require more undivided attention," said Buttigieg. "I will be taking some much-needed time off to care for my children, and that is in no way related to the tragic bridge collapse that apparently happened somewhere. Right now, I need to be a mother to my children. Please respect my family's...

The Federal Reserve said Tuesday that it officially saw a net negative income of $114.3 billion in 2023, a record loss tied to expenses related to managing the central bank’s short-term interest rate target. The loss last year follows $58.8 billion in net income in 2022, the Fed said. The numbers released were an audited tally following preliminary numbers reported earlier this year. The Fed has stressed repeatedly that net negative income does not impede its ability to operate or conduct monetary policy. By law, the Fed hands over any profits after covering operational expenses to the Treasury.

According to a recent AFP News article, a massive migrant tent city was discovered in NYC, kept hidden from the public eye.Located in a former operational airfield in southern Brooklyn, Democrats in New York City and their supporters in the leftist corporate media are keeping a vast migrant shelter hidden from the public eye. I am 57. Not only does it feel like "something wicked this way comes" but there is also this feeling that the whole world is holding it's breath...I came across this image on reddit today. The post was titled “Feeling of impending doom??” but the screenshot is from a comment on a youtube video. I posted about the comment on Twitter and got very strong reactions. Many posters identified with this feeling and I want to discuss this. Today in March of 2024 we’re in a particular moment of history. In the background the various slow-motion crises of our age...

You’ve probably heard of the “Not In My Backyard” — or NIMBY — movement, but you might not be familiar with “Yes In My Backyard,” an approach that embraces affordable housing development in every community. We face a national housing crisis, and Americans cannot afford to turn a blind eye to the needs of our neighbors, ignore the problem or hope someone else will solve it. We need more YIMBYs. As chair of the New Democrat Coalition’s Affordable Housing Task Force, I’m proud to lead our group of YIMBY Democrats in the House, and unveil the New Dems’ comprehensive Housing...

Engineers at INRS Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications Research Centre in Canada have developed the world’s fastest camera, which can shoot at an astonishing 156.3 trillion frames per second (fps). The best slow-mo cameras in phones are usually working with a few hundred fps. Professional cinematic cameras might use a few thousand, to achieve a smoother effect. But if you want to see what’s going on at the nanoscale, you’ll need to slow things way down, to the billions or even trillions of frames per second. The new camera can reportedly capture events that occur in the realm of femtoseconds – quadrillionths...

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), a member of the left-wing “Squad” in the Democratic caucus, walked back claims he made in November on Tuesday that reports of rapes committed by Hamas terrorists were Israeli “propaganda.” In a now-viral video that resurfaced from TikTok, Bowman told a rally held on November 17 in Westchester, New York, that the claims of rape, among other claims, were mere “propaganda” justifying the “siege” of Gaza. The United States, Britain and Ukraine are behind the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, the chief of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov has told the media. "We believe that this is true. In any case, we are now talking about the factual information we have. This is general information, but they have a long record of this sort," he said after participating in an enlarged meeting of the Prosecutor General's Office board, when asked whether the US, Britain and Ukraine were behind the terrorist attack. Bortnikov believes that Ukraine has been trying to prove it is capable...
