Retired federal judge J. Michael Luttig filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday arguing that former President Trump is disqualified to run for public office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Luttig, a longtime conservative jurist on the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, argued the Supreme Court justices, when they hear arguments next month in the case involving the Colorado Supreme Court decision to bar Trump from the ballot, should take a “textualist” approach to interpreting the constitution. “The ‘textualist’s touchstone’ is to give every constitutional provision its ‘fair meaning,’” Luttig wrote. “A narrow...

If you’re an American citizen, you get medical tyranny… if you’re an illegal? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is supposed to be an independent agency looking out for the health of the American people. So why hasn’t it protested the endless stream of illegals pouring across the northern and southern borders, allowed to enter without being checked for disease or illness? Are these bureaucrats more interested in protecting their jobs and going along with the political agenda of Joe Biden instead of protecting public health? Eight million people, not counting gotaways, have shown up during Biden’s first...

As with almost everything in our Western culture — or what once could be called “culture” — the cause of women’s rights has gone berserk. Also hypocritical. Op-ed.Have you ever gotten in trouble or received a nasty look when holding an elevator door for an ultra-feminist woman, or pausing when the elevator door opens for all the women inside to get off or for those waiting outside first to get on? If you live outside America’s two Crazy Coasts, know with a certainty that this is not the era of “Ozzie and Harriet” and “Father Knows Best.” Donna Reed? Howzabout...

I just got an update from my daughter in law about Allie. Here is what I heard. This all started with the Flu which attacked Allie's heart which reduced the flow of oxygen to her brain which has caused some level of damage. Allie is on intubation and doctors will remove it today or tomorrow in hopes that she will be able to breath on her own. She is also on dialysis. Allie is 4 years old and in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She is being feed intravenously. Right now the best scenario has Allie in CHOP for another two...

Former President Donald Trump’s defense team is considering the possibility of requesting a new trial. This development comes in the wake of revelations concerning the presiding judge’s past connections to Carroll’s legal team, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest. The controversy centers on Bill Clinton-appointed Judge Lewis A. Kaplan, who has been overseeing the defamation case brought by Carroll against Trump. The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, expressed shock upon learning that both Judge Kaplan and Roberta Kaplan, who are not related, previously worked together at the same prestigious law firm in the early 1990s....

The fourth quarter of 2023 was not good for Electric Vehicles (EV). Multiple manufacturers decided to curb or halt production. Ford in particular decided to cut their F150 Lightening Truck series in half. Roughly 4,500 auto dealers signed on to a letter petitioning the Biden administration to “tap the breaks” on its aggressive EV push, on account of EVs stacking up on dealer lots. The new year is already off to a rough start and we’re not even through the first month. Hertz announced it will be selling off about one third of its EVs, which will amount to roughly...

A New Hampshire woman was critically wounded after she fell into a large trash bin and then was tossed into a garbage compacting truck. A top emergency response official in the city of Manchester said crews were greeted with a remarkably unusual scene after the woman in question fell into an apartment complex’s garbage bin while taking out some trash. She stayed in the bin until a sanitation truck arrived to empty the contents of the bin.

... Five years after allowing churches to leave with their properties if they disagreed with the direction the denomination was heading on issues of gender and sexuality, the results of the split are in, and they reflect larger political patterns to a substantial degree. A new study by the Lewis Center for Church Leadership at Wesley Theological Seminary finds that the nation’s second-largest Protestant denomination lost a quarter of its total churches between 2019 and 2023. Leading the way were churches in the South — the same area of the country that tends to be the most politically conservative and...

Tickets on at least one secondary-market site were the most expensive in Super Bowl history on Monday, underscoring the anticipation of the game's Las Vegas debut between the defending champion and what likely is the most popular team in the West. Oh, and the great possibility Taylor Swift will be on hand when the Kansas City Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11. The average purchase price on TickPick was $9,815 on Monday morning. The Attorneys General of 28 states are demanding that President Joe Biden ignore a request to investigate the Lake City Army Ammunition plant’s policy of selling 5.56 mm rifle ammunition to civilians. A Jan. 24 letter written by Attorneys General Andrew Bailey of Missouri, Brenna Bird of Iowa, and Todd Rokita of Indiana and signed by 25 other attorneys general, warns that ending sales would harm America’s military readiness and do nothing to prevent crime. • German Economy Contracts at End of 2023 Amid High Inflation and Manufacturing Slowdown

Official data from Germany’s federal statistics agency, Destatis, reveals a contraction in the German economy at the end of 2023. The 0.3 percent decline in output from October to December adds to the challenges facing Europe’s leading export nation. The contraction is attributed to factors such as high inflation and a slowdown in manufacturing. Destatis’s data aligns with earlier estimates for the fourth quarter, confirming a 0.3 percent shrinkage in output. Analysts surveyed by financial data firm FactSet had forecasted this outcome. The economic decline is particularly pronounced in sectors like construction and machinery and equipment, with notable reductions in...

The local ABC affiliate said Columbus Day has become a divisive issue given the role of Christopher Columbus in colonizing the New World. One middle school in the district actually held a workshop titled, “Columbus: Hero or Villain?”Local Republicans called the decision disappointing and shocking. Others called it an insult to those who served in the military.“One word: DISGUSTING to describe Stamford Connecticut,” one angry resident said. “The very backwards, ignorant and obvious communist school board has CANCELLED both Columbus day and Veterans day. The reason? They needed more school days for teaching. WHAT????”

Following a bombshell $83.3 million award against Donald Trump, his rape accuser E. Jean Carroll, whose case was bankrolled by his enemies, couldn’t remember basic facts of her own claim, once described rape as “sexy,” and whose “off the rails” tweets weren’t allowed to be shown to the jury – just put on an absurd display. When asked by MSNBC‘s Rachael Maddow on Monday night how she’ll spend “Trump’s money” to help “women’s rights,” Carroll did her best impression of a “Price is Right” winner – like rape victims do, telling Maddow: “First thing Rachel, you and I are gonna...

Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) said Tuesday on “CBS Mornings” that it was a “fact” former President Donald Trump has mentally declined. Co-host Nate Burleson asked, “Governor, I want to get your thoughts real quick before we have to let you go. He did get you confused with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. You’ve worked with him closely, you’ve known him for quite some time, do you truly believe he is suffering from cognitive decline?” Haley said, “Are we really, in this country, going to have two 80-year-olds running for president? It is a fact that when you...

Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry gave a speech at the World Economic Forum calling for "an end to farming. Once we can inform people that agriculture contributes about 33% of all the CO2 emissions of the world we may be able to get the widespread support we need to eliminate this major source of climate change. In our modern world very few people buy their food from farmers. Most of them get their food from supermarkets. I, myself, get most of my food from restaurants and official banquets like the one we're all having here today. So, farming...

The Anti-Democratic Movement Targeted Ralph Nader First. We Should Have Paid More AttentionThe recent ballot access challenges, political investigations, and canceled primaries are just an extension of a phenomenon we should have seen coming twenty years agoIn the summer of 2004 Theresa Amato, campaign manager of presidential candidate Ralph Nader, took out a notebook in preparation for an important phone conference. Her candidate, Nader, had already been subject to an extraordinary — and extraordinarily underreported — campaign of litigious harassment at the hands of the Democratic Party. John Kerry told Nader he had 2,000 lawyers at his disposal and would do...
