Say adiós to the conservation of American history, heritage, and culture—it was good while it lasted. Reported by John Binder at Breitbart yesterday, Joe Biden has officially announced his opposition to congressional legislation that, if enacted, would prohibit the federal government from developing federal lands into tent cities and sprawling migrant camps. The statement released by Biden’s office reads as such: The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 5283, which would prohibit the use of Federal funds to provide temporary shelter to certain noncitizens, including migrants seeking asylum, on Federal lands falling under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, the Bureau...

Is the pro-Hamas crowd ignorant of Middle East history? October 7 should have been an open-and-shut case of moral condemnation.During peace and holiday, invading Hamas gunmen murdered, tortured, mass raped, decapitated, and mutilated some 1,200 Israelis. The vast majority were unarmed women, children, infants, and the elderly. The cowardly murderers proudly filmed their atrocities and then fled back to Gaza—to cheers from the Gaza street. Before Israel even retaliated, the mass murdering of Jews earned praise from the Middle East, the international hard left, and especially the faculty and students of elite Western campuses. When the Israeli Defense Forces struck back, the killers...

Our public health agencies are like an FBI for public health with a monetary incentive. Maybe you thought our public health agencies would undergo some contrite introspection after blowing it on basically every major COVID-19 policy (masks, lockdowns, school closings, vaccine safety, and efficacy, therapeutics, etc.). Yeah, sure. They did it all on purpose, their only regret being they didn’t do it to us gooder and harder. (Shortly before stepping down, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said she regretted the messaging, not getting the policies wrong. Masks forever, boosters galore, follow the teachers’ union science, as long as the messaging is...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemActs 19Paul in Ephesus 19 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. 4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On...

On those bleak corners of the Internet that fret about economic growth, social cohesion, and other boring stuff, there’s a common question: What the heck happened in 1971? On one chart after another for the United States, there is a pattern of steady growth and improvement in life that suddenly goes haywire right around 1971. Wage growth stagnated for all but the richest Americans. Inequality explodes. Housing prices began a long upward march that has yet to level out. Fertility rates crashed while illegitimacy surged. And so on, and so on. Many other nations have data that tells a similar...

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A group of panhandlers caught by police allegedly committed fraudulent activity in Tulsa. According to the Tulsa Police Department, five individuals were cited for soliciting without a vest after holding up fake funeral signs of an 8-year-old boy and collecting hundreds of dollars from Tulsans. ............ “They're holding signs up. The signs are saying they basically need money to raise for a funeral for a child that had died in their family. I guess in a car wreck. They're unable to prove that that’s even a fact," said Danny Bean, TPD public information officer. ......... “We’ve...

The Biden regime is always working to concoct new methods to target, harass, and punish Trump supporters. And it appears they’ve discovered a fresh method by transforming the “friendly skies” into a politically charged hellhole of harassment, and they’re using a “Quad S” watchlist to make it happen. The ‘SSSS’ watchlist came to public attention thanks to the renowned investigative journalist James O’Keefe, who discovered his own name on the dreaded list and subsequently began digging for more information about it.

New York thinks it is going to be the “leader” in showing the world how to transition away from fossil fuels to “green” energy. Our politicians and bureaucrats have not bothered with things like feasibility studies or demonstration projects showing that this can be done, because after all they are geniuses and it is up to the little people to figure out the details. So the energy transition has been ordered up via statutes filled with mandates and deadlines and penalties, with no attention paid to feasibility or cost. We now all get to sit back and watch as this...

Lawsuit highlights dispute over Washington team's identity and the ramifications of cancel culture.. A lawsuit advocating for restoring the name Redskins to the National Football League (NFL)’s Washington team alleges that a rival Native American organization improperly prompted the change to the team now called the Commanders. The Native American Guardian Association (NAGA) filed its complaint in the U.S. District Court of North Dakota against the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) and Josh Harris, who acquired the team in July for $6.05 billion. “NAGA’s members were huge Redskin fans precisely because they were the Redskins,” the complaint states. “It...

Beyond the battlefield and diplomatic advice, American officials have outlined post-war aims, something Israeli officials themselves have declined to do. During an international conference in Bahrain on November 18, Bret McGurk, Biden’s Middle East national security coordinator, articulated Washington’s goal of resuscitating “two-state solution” negotiations, a three-decade-old path to a Palestinian state that would conceivably live in peace with Israel. “No country can live with the threats of terror like what we saw from Hamas, unleashed on 7 October on their border,” McGurk said. “At the same time, Palestinians deserve, need and require safety and self-determination.” McGurk laid out proposed...

Buckle up, America! The signs are clear, and they’re not pointing towards mere challenges but a looming economic catastrophe. The U.S. housing market, a historical indicator of economic health, is in a deadlock, and it’s sending shockwaves through the nation. With 30-year mortgage rates hitting two-decade lows, buying conditions have plummeted to levels unseen since 1960, a grim foreshadowing of past severe economic downturns. The housing market, sensitive to interest rate changes, is sounding the alarm. Adding to the distress, businesses are facing tightening credit access. Over 30% of domestic banks are imposing stricter lending standards, reaching a concerning 50.8%...

International aid to Gaza is the only process that ensures its survival. This rather strange situation has no equivalent in any other place in the world except for the scientists living in Antarctica. Gazans are the most welfare-dependent population in the known universe, producing nothing except a few vegetables. And yet nobody asks why. Let us be crystal clear that every last Gazan would go elsewhere in the world if this aid stopped. The answer lies in the fact that the world’s powers hate what Israel stands for and, believe it or not, that’s not its Jewishness: It is, instead,...

For years, there has been an ever-widening gap between the values and behaviors of contemporary America (“the Real World”) and those on college campuses (“the Ivory Tower”). Since, ultimately, the Ivory Tower is dependent on the Real World for the resources necessary to conduct its operations, whenever universities engage in behaviors that are perceived as outrageously inappropriate, they jeopardize their special status as highly subsidized academic villages. Virtually every university in the United States is dependent on the broader public for the money needed to pay the bills. Yet polling has demonstrated a sharp decline in public support for universities....

The switch in indices of the Thrift Savings Plan, essentially the 401(k) plan for federal employees, will take place next year.Sound unimportant? The Thrift Board made one of the most consequential investment decisions of the year, and it will undoubtedly affect allocations of other investment managers, in America and perhaps elsewhere. In short, this move will be a blow to China’s failing equity markets, delivered at the worst possible moment for Beijing.
