We are no longer the America of our founders or even the America that existed twenty years ago. We are in trouble, and a cataclysm of ominous events may soon overwhelm us. We need a national spiritual revival.

Jill previously tested positive in August 2022 and again that month in a rebound case after treatment with Paxlovid. Jill’s case comes as a new wave of COVID hysteria has started with the emergence of a new variant (Pirola). A follow-up statement by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Joe Biden tested negative for COVID Monday evening. The Bidens were on vacation this weekend in Rehoboth, Delaware....

AFlorida judge this weekend struck down a congressional map approved by GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, ruling it diluted minority voting power in the region, making it “unconstitutional.” “This Court will declare the enacted map unconstitutional and enjoin the Secretary of State from using that map in future congressional elections,” according to the ruling issued Saturday by Circuit Judge J. Lee Marsh. Marsh also said in the ruling that the state legislature will have to redraw the map again because the plaintiffs have shown this one causes “diminishment of black voters’ ability to elect their candidate of choice in violation of...

On this date in 1953, Earle Dennison became the first white woman electrocuted in Alabama history.* The 55-year-old widow had a sort of Arsenic and Old Lace and Orange Drink thing going on: that sugary refreshment administered by kindly old Auntie Earle on a visit to her niece Shirley Weldon was the delivery vehicle for that venerable poison. Puking her guts out, little Shirley was raced to the hospital where Earle Dennison had her day job as a nurse. But while the child lay dying, the aunt slipped away so that she could make a payment on a $5,500 life...

People will be puzzled about this operation in the future, it’s literally the most idiotic attempt ever made in recent military history, and probably one of worst defeats in modern military history. Ukrainians, with every single factor stacked against them, tried to quickly breach a 20-30 km deep defensive belt, mostly because Western supporters of theirs deluded themselves for months how Russia is on the ropes and how Russian ”mobiks” (even though 90% of Ukrainian army are mobilized people by now) will just drop weapons and run, to be crushed under the threads of superior Western tanks. Even when hit...

"Chinese media outlets this week shared a new geographic map from China's state-owned standard map service that shows Russian territory as part of China. "The map, which is said to have been approved by Beijing and was released by China's Ministry of Natural Resources, comes as Western observers have speculated that the relationship between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping has become strained. "Shortly before Putin launched his invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, he and Xi signed a "no limits" partnership agreement, but Chinese officials have since publicly called for a peaceful resolution to the war....

Researchers say diagnostic delays frequently occur in patients with undiagnosed head and neck cancer (HNC) and are calling for improved dissemination of current clinical practice guidelines in a new paper. Researchers found that undiagnosed HNC patients with neck swelling and other symptoms are frequently prescribed antibiotics, rather than following current clinical guidelines recommending evaluation for cancer, which can delay diagnosis and complicate treatment for their cancer. Sean Massa, M.D. says diagnostic delays can translate into requiring more aggressive treatments with more toxicities and a lower cure rate. "ENT doctors usually are quite familiar with this cancer diagnosis and can use...

Screen shot: Townhall Media It is hard to criticize Governor Ron DeSantis when the world is watching such a stellar response to Hurricane Idalia. He left the campaign trail to head back to Florida to lead the state through a mass shooting and a hurricane. DeSantis shines in a crisis. He’s a take charge kind of guy and he goes into Energizer Bunny mode. He went into a predominantly black community, likely hostile political territory, and comforted them when a mass shooting occurred in a Jacksonville Dollar General store. He prepared the state for the hurricane coming its way. Hurricane...

The Republican presidential primaries continue to heat up as the candidates vie to become the main challenger to former President Donald Trump, who still maintains a considerable lead over the rest of the field. As part of a massive, pre-holiday weekend document dump by the Biden administration on June 30, the domestic oil and gas industry received an unwelcome gift from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), one that shifts Mr. Biden’s continuing war on oil and gas to the Permian Basin. In a notice published in the Federal Register, USFWS said it has determined a need to list the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard, long a topic of concern and controversy, as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. Though a day past deadline, the notice of proposed listing will presumably satisfy a...

Truth Social might be in a bit of trouble. And when I say a bit of trouble, I mean the platform could be shutting down altogether if the stars do not align. But with the deal in jeopardy, this might not come to fruition:When former president Donald Trump’s media start-up announced in October 2021 that it planned to merge with a Miami-based company called...

New research supports the idea that the brains of older adults who maintain physical fitness by engaging in regular strenuous exercise more closely resemble those of younger adults. The researchers used functional MRI to measure fluctuations in blood oxygen level-dependent signals as the 52 study participants performed tasks involving several varieties of cognitive control. The fMRI scans indicated that young adults primarily used the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex—a classical working memory, cognitive control center of the brain that is activated more as tasks became more demanding. In general, the brain calls upon its resources like firefighters respond to a multi-alarm fire:...
