There are many reasons why so many US public schools remained persistently closed for well over a year, but at the top of the list is Randi Weingarten. She is the President of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and served as the self-appointed and media-anointed spokesperson for teachers’ unions throughout the pandemic. Weingarten appeared regularly across national media outlets for well over two years, relentlessly touting the dangers of public schools and the risk to teachers from in-person instruction. She also painted anyone who advocated for schools to open as heartless and cruel. Now that it’s become clear what...

A photo of a huge spider hanging from a roof has sparked concern, with some joking that the homeowner should move out. A concerned man in Baldivis, 45km south of Perth, shared the scary image on a local Facebook community group and asked for help identifying the mammoth arachnid. Daniel Penny doesn’t deserve a plea deal after being charged with manslaughter in Jordan Neely’s subway chokehold death, Neely’s uncle said Sunday — as he called for the prosecution of the two men seen helping the ex-Marine hold his nephew down. Christopher Neely made the comments the day after Penny, 24, in an exclusive interview, said that Jordan Neely’s death had nothing to do with race, while noting he did what he thought was right and would act the same way if he was put in a similar situation again. “He needs to be prosecuted or he will do it...

The country's largest advocacy group for LGBTQ+ rights has suspended its equality and inclusion rating for Bud Light over its poor handling of the backlash that followed from a partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The suspension of Anheuser-Busch's CEI score means the company 'no longer has the right to use the 'Best Places to Work' distinction,' HRC's letter says.
